Hey all you NON-Texans...LOL!!! Are you all ready to do some fun SingleDiver.com events in your part of the country or world?

We are always looking for people to help get fun SingleDivers.com events or activities or Happy Hours going around the world. Since Texas is our backyard...we have a few foks who have been organizing regular events in this neck of the woods but now want to expand.

If you see an event you want to participate in...post and join in. If you don't see one then suggest one in a new thread. When you decide that you want to get something going send us a quick email with your ideas, suggestions and plans. While we are fairly flexible about what you can try and how you can try it...we do have a few guidelines we'd like you to follow so please let us know in advance before officially starting an event!

And we are always open to new ideas and suggestions as well...we look forward to your participation! -ww

I want to thank DiverBrian for helping us to organize the Northern Event tentatively planned for Labor Day suggested by CanuckDiver! Thanks to all for helping to make this a success! (And we certainly hope to see other divers from all over join us when we get all the details posted!)

I also want to thank Marvel for helping to spearhead the S. Florida Regional Happy Hours started by Clair and others! They just did the first official one and I hope to see more put on the calendar SOON!

I want to thank Amber for helping to get the Dallas Happy Hours off the ground at a great new place in North Dallas /Addison area! She is working on the dates of the one for June!

I want to thank Michael aka CyclingMike31 for taking the reins on the next Athens event as Dejah will be out of town. Amber has offered to help and I know they'll provide some awesome fun Texas Style for the next ones!

And back to wonder woman...aka Marvel....she and Walter are helping me to coordinate our first Regional Florida Event which is a clean up of the ocean along with an official SD Dive trip! Woo Hoo!!! We have tentatively set the dates for August 20-22nd-ish weekend timeframe. Most likely 4 days to make it worthwhile for people to fly in!

Now looking for someone to help organize happy hours in California with perhaps a dive the next day like the Florida gang does and a Happy Hour in Houston perhaps mid week so we can get happy hour prices all night...free food and discounts off all purchases like we do in Dallas!

Anyone else care to jump in with some ideas???

Be happy to help Ana organize something here (Catalina) in the future. I could even bore the attendees with some of my underwater video! Off to Boston today but will be back late next week.

WW- don't know if you saw my post about getting digital copies of the SD logo that are big enough to print as small "banners" to advertise SD locally at the Catalina Dive Park. It would be great to have that plus an authorized description of SD that could be printed below it. I leave my hand cart right by the dive stairs where it would get a lot of attention.

I will also help with something in CA, but it needs to be in July for me. I am not sure logistically how a Happy Hour BEFORE diving would work here, it seems to me that it would be better to do the Happy Hour AFTER diving (if on Catalina for example), or on a totally separate track.

No I didn't get your email or pm...but that is an awesome idea. We just did some "About Us" flyers that I can send you for use at SeaSpace. If we get some CA events planned we can even do the color brochure with them posted on it.

PM me a mailing addy and I'll send you the flyers I have made up already! Plus we can do a laminated SD logo to draw attention to the flyers! Cool....that should help us get some more CA divers!!! Woo!!! Hoo!!! k

Cool idea....each area is different but perhaps doing a Happy Hour AFTER diving would be best for CA!! Whatever works in each area is what we'd love to see happen!!!

Sapphire- unless my Dad passes away between now and mid-July, I should be here all of that month. If he does, I will be going back to Florida for a family celebration of his life (maybe I could join a SD event there).

I wouldn't mind helping with some events. I agree with Jennifer about having happy hour after diving. Diving breaks the ice for people and gives a common ground as to something to talk about during happy hour.

How about we start a thread for a California event to get ideas from locals? The problem I see with a California gathering is the amount of people we have from California on this board our numbers are very small and some are warm water only kind of people.

I do dive monthly with a group but they are not all single or even buddyless. Actually most if not almost all of my dive buddies are married or have a steady buddy to dive with year round.
