I archived some of my PMs last week and unfortunately deleted them from my mailbox before I could check to see that they were archived correctly. Needless to say, they were not.

Normally, the email sent containing my PMs looks like this:

This email has been sent from http://www.singlediv...erval/index.php.

Your archived messages have been compiled into a single
file and has been attached to this message.

Regards,

The SingleDivers.com Surface Interval team.

(sorry, it wouldn't copy and paste so I improvised)
pm_archive.html (91.9 KB)

But during this last archive, although I followed the same steps, it looks like this:

This is a MIME encoded message.

Content-Type: text/plain;
charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

The last line of gibberish goes on and on and on ...

Does anyone have any ideas? I tried fiddling with it in Mac Mail but to no avail.

:P

It could be that you're using one of those funny little toys instead of a real computer. Is Mac Mail compatible with MIME encoded messages? It sounds like the "gibberish" at the end of the e-mail may be te MIME encoded archive. (Just teasing Caetllonn, Macs are great for image processing and video editing).

Marcel Marceau? Did anyone know that Jean-Michel Cousteau is also a mime? If I remember correctly, he told me he studied with Marceau. You should see him mime underwater.

George,

The bit you quoted is what I received when things were working good. I had an icon on top of that quoted bit and when I clicked on it, I could view my PMs with no problem.

Now, I'm receiving a new message that informs me it is MIME encoded, and instead of seeing an icon, all I see is many, many lines of gibberish. If I save it to my desktop and then drag it to my browser, I'm seeing the exact same message as I do when I view it as an email.

Hmmm... perhaps it's just "American" English. I think that may look like gibberish to members of the Commonwealth. Just teasing ya.
