Thanks for posting.
I am very interested in the Hot Springs area :teeth: Its only about a hour drive from my house.
I spent most of 2007 working/diving at Broken Bow Lake Oklahoma.

Ya that Clear Springs BBQ was a Hoot :banghead: I would like to do some SD events there in 2008.
As for me I'm feeling pretty scubalicious :cheerleader: and I'm looking forward to go diving/working with some of our SD members this year.

Hey Mike. I guess that one Harley river recovery got in your blood? If you need a little help in my area let me know. Now when you get your sidescan sonar system really let me know we can go insurance/ fraud hunting but I get dibb's on the first Scarab Sport, that said it will be kept in Ft Lauderdale for your convienent use of course. Jimmy

Congrats on the new business. Our unit does this type of stuff for free up here in the NE. I don't know what kind of call you have for it down there, hopefully it's better then we have up here.

If you ever need any help, let me know. Also, we do have a side scan sonar and lots of fun underwater toys. We amost picked up an old Coast Guard ship (120') to make our unit compeditive on real ocean recoveries, but some of the unit members didn't want that. :cheerleader:

Of course you can use that quote.... Like I could stop You :thankyou:
But according to the SD rules of Conduct, Chapter 13 section-4 paragraph-1... a small monetary donation is required.. but Diverlicious is free :2cool:

Moose,
There dosnt seem to be much call for boat recovery down here either :cheerleader:
Maybe we can combine your side scan sonar and my new diving plateform/work barge and go out looking for stuff someday :cool1:

here is a pic I found this morning on my computer of a houseboat I recovered that was sinking in its slip. I put the liftbags on it and moved it to shallow water so I could reset the bags and get it floating again.

Hey Mike, I was down in Roatan last year, and the dm was a Canuck, whose plan was to eventually go home and start a simailar business, to recover snowmobiles from lakes, then rebuild & sell 'em. Of course you may want to dive dry in some of those lakes.

Bill

I'd hate to be the one on that sled! I spent some time as a snowmobile tech in colorado... too cold for me. :)

Hey,
My name is Jay. I am a professional, commercially certified salvage diver. Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm bringing this up to prevent enormous fines and injury. Are you commercially certified? In order to do physical work underwater for pay, state and federal agencies have very strict regulations regarding commercial diving. If your not commercially certified, or trained in commercial diving, and salvage operations. I urge you to look into the regulations regarding commercial scuba, and surface supplied diving operations. I also urge you to look into the penalties for conducting commercial diving operations illegally. I'm telling you this from experience. The minimum mandatory fine is $10,000. The maximum penalty for untrained persons, is death. There are so many unforseen factors, and Mr. Murphy has final say. I urge you to take a look at OSHA 29 CFR 1910.4XX, as well as USCG regs which are 46 CFR 197.4XX. One agency or the other will be governing your operations unless your out of country or in international waters. I'm not trying to bully you. I made the same mistake. Got fined $10k for recovering a boat, and after a year of legal hassles and payment of the fine, I enrolled in dive school. I am a 12yr veteran commercial diver and salvage specialist with over 2500 logged dives. And I sure am glad I switched direction and went to commercial dive school. There isn't a scuba cert for anything remotely close to commercial work. And no, a wreck diver cert doesn't count either. Anyway, there's my 47 cents worth. Be safe, remember that the KISS rule is a lifesaver. And may your bubbles always go up!
