Well I have returned from my trip. Dived the Avalon Dive Park with Catalina dive shop. Water was at 56 degrees, but with the 7mm dive suit I never felt it The dive was beautiful. The viz was over forty feet. Lots of fish and slugs. First time in salt water, so I had a tough time getting down. Then I had a run a way ascent on the way back. We were slowly returning from 60 feet, at about the 25 foot mark I started going up and could not stop it. I just followed my Guide Jeff, who was very patient by the way, at the surface, till he noticed me missing, about a minute later, then just shadowed him to the exit. Probably cut 10-15 minutes off my dive time, but I did not hurt myself so I guess thats a plus. All in all for my sixth dive I feels things , got to work on the bouyancy, went fairly well. Bill and travelnsj thanks for the tips. I prebooked so I was on the dive just the guide and me. Still worth the price.

:thankyou: Glad you had a great time! Catalina is a pretty cool place to hang out....as long as you do not have to live there!

Did you go shopping at my store and contribute to...my Palau fund? :teeth:
You must endeavor to pursue!

Oh, just ignore the local politics and escape the bitter cold southern California winters by heading to the tropics and it isn't a bad place, Scott!

Or buy one of my spellbinding underwater DVD's to contribute to my dive travel fund?

Think of the 60's and 70's when the Chi Chi Club REALLY was the Chi Chi Club... a dark cavern inside and the great music of Marshall, Dave, John, Randy, Mary and the boys on the front patio. And no one had to worry about being slipped a date rape drug in their drink (yep, that happens on the island, but not necessarily just at the Chi).

Yep, I know re: some of the locals. That's why I spend so much time underwater!

Sorry, I missed the store, I got chilly after I got out of the water, Go figure, So I just hob knobbed back to the ship for lunch. Since I already paid for that food. And Bill was getting his hair cut, so I could not buy one of those DVD's. :lmao:

Well, of course we hope you come back! I'll try not to be editing a DVD against a deadline or getting my haircut! Maybe I won't have hair by the time you return!!

I tried to get the cruise ships to carry my DVD's but unless they see big $$$ in it for themselves they have no interest. I thought 33% on each sale (on a consignment basis) was a good deal... no upfront risk for them.
