I am assuming we can rent tanks and weights...as I am flying (not that I own either anyway but it sounded good)

How much lead do you need?

OK, I'll bring lots of lead and we'll work on it.

APD rents tanks as part of the package; they even load them on the boat for you. :lmao:
I don't know about weights, but I'll have a few extra pounds of soft weights (and even a belt, if memory serves) in the bin that you can borrow if need be.

Cheers!

Do they have DIN tank or just yoke fittings?

They do NOT have DIN Tanks.

They want to charge for weights, but when we have actually number of SD'ers attending we will try to convince them to loan for free. So those driving in should bring their own.

Ok. Sign me up the weekend. I will be out of town up until that Friday but am hoping I can get back from the left coast early. Otherwise, I'll catch the redeye and show up Sat afternoon, perhaps in time for HH!
:-). Tell me who to PM with the details.
Manatees are soooo cool for those who have never gotten the chance to snorkel with them!!!!

Glad you will be joining us, and I hope you will be there for the full weekend. It should be a great time. If you wish to PM you will need to upgrade to a Premier level, see

Where are you flying in to??

nhb

I bet I can swing this....hope airfaire is reasonable.

In FL, Manatee interaction is ONLY allowed snorkeling on the surface...NO SCUBA allowed...

nhb

Count me in. Is scuba an option on Sunday or do we have to snorkel?

Am Pro can supply EVERYTHING...

nhb

Flying in - Tampa and Orlando are both about 1 1/2 hours from the area. So which ever airport has the best deals would be the one to select. :cool2:

Maybe we can match those of you flying with some of the folks in the area attending.

Since you won't have tanks I can probably take 2 depending on how much luggage you have :banghead: and when you are coming/going.

As for non SD members - best answer have them join. I will leave that one for Kamala to answer, she is currently doing the Jan Florida Dive.

All the sites can be snorkeled for non divers at the same price.

Will get back to you on the DIN tanks - American Pro Diving had all 8 boats full for the holiday weekend, so asked for no calls until Tuesday.

As for rooms - we will get better rates if all rooms are placed through SD. We have not confirmed we will be using Seagrass at this time. We wanted to see how many SD'ers were interested.

I'm very excited to see the number of out of staters coming for this weekend. Good to meet more SD'ers!

I can't decide on going to Minnesota OR going to Florida. Too bad I can't do both. Oh well, I'll have to catch March event instead. Don't have too much fun without me.

You may bring SD'ers to this event, but they must be over 18. Please encourage them to drop into to SD and post a howdy.

All the spots can be snorkeled and it is the same price.

There is a SLIGHT chance that I might be able to make it in Saturday afternoon (Social Engagement Friday evening), but I might be able to do the Homassassa gig Sunday AM...

Anyone interested in doing Ginnie on the following Monday??

I am assuming the lodging is additional. Can you tell me what the rates are and what type of lodging?

Thanks
