Can we get rid of that pop-up trying to redirect me to another site?
Does it ask for a user name and password?
And is the site topscubasites.com?

I'm wondering if they changed the banner coding at the top of the SD site page. Since the annoying pop-up started, the TopScubaSites banner no longer displays properly.
It IS annoying, in that each time I change the screen, the ^&%#(* pop-up comes on and has to be gotten rid of. Totally destroys my enjoyment of the SD experience. I liken it to blowing a bugle while at the height of a passionate interlude. Kills the mood (among other things).

If you use Firefox in conjunction with an ad filter, you don't see a lot of the worthless drivel out there on the 'net. I run Privoxy for a filter now, and I can eliminate a lot of ad clutter on sites I regularly visit. It almost makes using The Weather Channel page worthwhile, again. Just right click on an ad to find it's origin, and add that entire domain into the 'Site-specific block patterns' section of Privoxy's 'default actions' file, and they're *gone*. All the 'sponsored' adds from pagead2.googlesyndication.com are eliminated by adding googlesyndication.com/ to the block list, and it nails a lot of javascript advertising. If you get really annoyed, you can delve into the source code of a webpage, and block specific javascript ads from that site just by adding in the path to the garbage script. My block list is getting longer every week.
FYI, I logged in here earlier and didn't see the pop-up. It's amazing what the proper tools can do.
Just a suggestion....

Firefox is a (free) decent browser that allows you to block unwanted pop-ups. Microsoft specifically does NOT want you to block 'em, 'cos they're a commercial company as well as the folks that throw a gazillion pop-ups at you. I've tried several browsers, and Firefox (on the Windows platform) does a good job of rendering pages that were designed *by* Microsoft tools *for* Microsoft IE. Most others will gag on some of the non-standard MS code, including my old favorite, Opera.
