I would prefer Lauderdale, Pompano, Deerfield Beach or WPB. I've been disappointed in Key's diving, but then I haven't been on any of the wrecks.

Marvel, I could do a Fort Lauderdale or Pompano thing any weekend, maybe you
could do an entire boat with SD members ? A drift dive may work out well, splitting
divers up into a couple groups perhaps (assigning everyone a personal buddy
of course).

nextariel, you would not be disappointed with the wrecks in the keys and you would especially not be disappointed with some of the better reefs. The drift
diving in lauderdale and north though, can be pretty decent too !

Actually what we're going to put together is a weekend of diving & hanging out. It would be a lot of fun to have everyone in FL & beyond come in to town & dive together- something along the lines of the Athens event. So, if we have 2 full days of diving where would you like to see it?

BTW, you should come over next weekend & dive with us too! :cool1:

Marvel what a wonderful idea.
This would give many of us a chance to meet and dive together.
That might never get to meet other wise. :cool1:

Ah, don't worry girl! We are so close (relatively speaking) that we are bound to dive together sooner or later! Just got to come up with a good venue to lure you down!

Actually, I think the twin happy hours this weekend with diving in between is perfect.

We are having a Single Divers Happy Hour both Friday and Saturday evenings with diving on Saturday at Lauderdale By The Sea. For details go to this thread.

Marvel, you guys doin a boat dive 6/5-6/6 ?
I'm not much on the hanging out in the clubs and such but
I enjoy company topside while diving and of course the diving.
Anything in lauderdale pompano deerfield beach would be fine with me, if the clubbing is optional I'll definitely make roll
call at pre-dive !

Ya know- we haven't decided! I'm kind of assuming a beach dive or two or three. But, I promise you this- it's not a "club" atmosphere- it's a band playing in a blocked-off street with all ages, including small children hanging around (mostly adults though)

Hey Marvel...another question to ask people interested is how many days of diving? 2 days is usually all that the locals want to do...but there is a lot of cost involved for out-of-towners to come in for just 2 days so something longer is more appealing to offset air costs or extended drive times. Add that to your inquiries as you collect info and interest. Then we can really plan a great SD trip to Florida which will exceed what Athens was. Afterall...Athens was merely a quarry dive...this will be a real SD trip like Cozy or Roatan etc!

Aye Aye, Mon Generale.....oops! mixing my services & languages, there! :welcome:

OK, so guys- have at it- your ideas of what you would like to come to S Fl for- we've got some of the best diving around (no modesty here). We've got wrecks, reefs, statues, towers, beach diving- you name it!

My favorite dives range from the reef in my back yard in Ft Lauderdale to the Spiegel Grove in the keys. that's the kind of selection we have for you.

How many days would you like to spend down here diving? Warning! You WILL want to stay!

So does that mean you think we can get some of those Texans to come for some real diving?
