I have been wondering through the board today to see what was going on as i have been offline for a couple of days.

Well i came across das wenchs profile i noticed that everytime it refreshes that it changes the picture thats used. I was wondering is how can i set that up or is that its superspecical admin voodoo to get that feature?

Our old admin's used to do that as well.

Seems it was a super duper fragelistic awesome birthday present from Stan aka Desert_Diver to me! I have no clue where he dug up all those pics of me but I'm guessing they are in the various photo galleries on the site.

When the site first started our old admin did something similar and had rotating eagles and birds as his avatar. When we upgraded the site that old coding went away until Stan recently revived it.

Since it was a birthday present it will for the time being remain just that. I think it took a lot of hard coding to do it so not sure how easy it would be to replicate but we'll keep you aprised.

I keep refreshing the page just so I can look at all the pretty pictures!!

I'm trying to fix it so that when she's got 2 or 3 posts on the same page, it forces a different picture for each one. I got the code added into the file, but I don't know the proper syntax to get the PHP code to return a random number into the calling string. That'd bypass the cache re-hit. Still hunting... but there's vast volumes about PHP which I know diddly. Hey, what can I say, I'm an engineer, not a poet! Blame the creator, not the tools.

I had to tweak the photos so they were all the same dimensions, then hand-edit the calling command into the database and the photo size. I'd slipped up the first time and one of 'em made Kamala look fat 'cos it stretched sideways! Oops, fix THAT one before anyone sees it! Quick! Dump 'em all into a special directory, and viola! it's done. It took a while to hunt down all the photos and say 'yeah, that's good', 'no, she won't appreciate THAT one!' Gotta keep the ladies happy (always a good motto for living life).

Blame me for any creative cropping, I was trying to catch our subject in the best possible light. I liked the results!

if you give me a day or so i can dig up some of my old code from when i seriously did webdesign and i will pull a random object code (its in JS but should be close enough to atleast test). as for php i know what you mean i used to lots of coding but since i havent done it actively in so long that i can remember it and rely on DW to help me out, i would rather build the graphic end of it then the coding end as that can get complicated in a hurry.


as for photo stuff if you get stuck on that let me know as i can do edit and crops. as soon as i finish some of the portraits im working on i will show you the level i work at on editting.
