Late starter,

Once I knew we would go to Hawaii (family) in March 2003 my mind was made up.

I have had saltwater tanks for years; fish only, coral reefs, etc. One of my coral tanks had about 28 species of corals in it, along with assorted inverts.

So I took a referral with me to Hawaii in Mar. 03 and completed my dual cert. (PADI & SDI). In Sep. 03 I completed my AOW PADI.

I really enjoy diving in warm saltwater, (Florida & Hawaii) but settle for freshwater dives as a mainstay because of my location in Northwest Indiana.

Here at home we dive lakes, Quarries, and the big lake (Lake Michigan) that has some outstanding well-preserved shipwrecks to dive on. The water is cold and does not destroy the wrecks like saltwater does. The majorities of them are in marine preserves and are protected; keeping them as intact as the day they went down.
