:P :birthday: :fish: OK, some of ya'll told me ther was some charactors in SD( was it a warning?)well, I have to admit, if your going down - this is the place to do it! I got a call from our founder( she must have been really lost if she found me) and she wanted to know if I had found out how to get around SD yet , so I had to tell her "sure , no problem! everyone keeps telling me where to go,"" but not to worry I think they are trying to help" (if any of them meant it, I didn't catch on ) anyway I wanted to thank everone who tried to help and apologize to anyone I might have offended w/my fustrated words  We talked for quite awile and she told me that it will get easier once SD gets it's facelift(it will be to late for me, I've done figured my way around)and if I wanted to really thank everyone for helping me,I should just help the next fresh face find their way around just like ya'll did for me(I'll watch for the hotheads- I should be able to recognize them, they are probably realated to me). WW also told me that if I had any Ideas that might be usefull to the community I should speak up( now I probably won't shut up -- you may regret it) I liked what she told me about the possability of doing monthly dives at some of the more local dive sites like Lake Jocassie( hinthint)and St Lawrence(Ijust gotta see them wreaks)I hope that it will work out that each happy hour zone will get a couple of places featured, that way those on a tight budget can still get plenty of exposure to others within SD(can you say"student"or "single mom/dad") I'm pretty sure that some are resricted by funding :birthday: :birthday: :birthday: :birthday: :fish2: :fish2: :fish: so maybe this will help! "But wait!" you say" how will we reconize others in SD if it"s our first time here?'' lets throw this out and see if it floats--how would everyone feel about having something like a''dog tag'' to hang on your bc or someplace noticable, nothin fancy(well some of you might want fancy) just something bright enough to be noticed if you were looking for it . just a few ideas  I'll shut up for now(but not for long) !!

No worries. We're all friendly here.

I did my first St. Lawrence River diving on my first SD trip. If there is enough interest, we could likely schedule a trip up there for next year sometime (preferably fall when the water is really warm yet) . I cancelled my trip up there this year to do another location :birthday: .

You may want to put further ideas in our Feedback and Suggestions forum for site staff to better respond to them :P .

Have fun here!

No worries dad+2(.5)...I've moved this thread (that's what they call a topic on message boards) to our feedback and suggestions section! But YES you'll be able to find it as I left a cookie/crumb trail otherwise known as a link to the new forum from the old one.

Thanks for such a great post! And here I thought the 'character' you were referring too was YOU! It sure sounded that way on the phone with you! :birthday:

Actually you had some REALLY great ideas and they will be taken into consideration and several of them used as we do the facelift as you call it! And yes we'd love any other suggestions that you have and/or any other new person has to help make the SD experience better!

I got some great ideas after talking to you so I know we are on the right track!

As for a way to identify others as SDer's when getting together to dive...the dogtag idea is a great one! In fact I've already found a source for them so be looking for them coming to SD soon! :P

We are also going to provide more ways for people to do local diving...and I'm thrilled you've agreed to help us get some dives going at Lake Jocassie! Greg aka ncdiver42 is also going to help (he works at the dive shop at Lake Jocassie) so we should have some great diving going on there VERY SOON!

Yep...no good idea goes unpunished but after talking to you...I feel very confident that you can handle it! Again thank you again for offering to help get a DOM...Dive of the Month organized at Lake Jocassie and other SC destinations and thanks for all the great suggestions on how to make the site easier to understand, use and get around in! -ww
