There is a picture in your profile, do you mean you want one to show in your post? That's the one called avitar.
I, Latitude Adjustment (insert log in name), do hereby swear, (politely), that I shall not hold SingleDivers, (SD), nor any SD poster, (real or imagined), liable, nor shall I seek legal restitution, (real or imagined), for any perceived, (real or imagined), offenses I may incur, (or Incurrrrrrrrrr on talk like a pirate day), that may or may not be posted on this or any SCUBA related board, (real or imagined), by anyone, (real or imagined), anywhere, (real or imagined). Further, I void any right to privacy, (real or imagined), as it may, or may not relate to any posting, (real or imagined), about me, to me, for me, because of me, all about me, my dog, my cat, my bird, my monkey, my family, (real or imagined), my friends, (real or imagined), or my world, (real or imagined).

Karen,

Is it your avatar you'd like to add? (The picture that apppears to the left of your posts?) If so:

Go to My Controls
Scroll down on the left side to Personal Profile
Click on Edit Avatar Settings
Scroll down to Upload a new image from your computer
And Choose file

I haven't changed my avatar since the new board went up so I'm not sure why you're being asked about a URL. Try this and if you're still having problems, I'll direct Desert_Diver's attention to it.

BTW, a Personal Pic is what appears in your profile to the right of your avatar. Only Premier Members and above can access your profile.

The system won't allow a remote avatar or profile photo (i.e. the 'URL to a photo page' error). It has to be uploaded locally, and must be a GIF, JPG or PNG extension/type. Caetllonn has it right for the upload instructions, I just did it myself. Since you're a Premium member, you most assuredly can upload both avatar & Personal photos! If you still have trouble, just e-mail 'em to me (desert_diver at singledivers dot com) and I can upload them for you. :tears: Let me know which is the avatar (the little picture next to your posts) and which is the personal photo (the larger picture on your profile page) and I'll get 'r done!

The system is *supposed* to trim it the avatar down to 125x??? pixels, and it's *supposed* to limit the file size to 150K bytes, but both of those have been acting up. Someone recently uploaded a >1meg avatar, and the system allowed it. I manually trimmed it 'cos his posts were displaying really slowly.
