A little belated mini trip report, but a good time none-the-less!

I had the pleasure of meeting Howard (aka ScubaDadMiami), quickly while he was in his bunk on the Ocean Explorer on Tuesday, May 30th while the SD Bahamas crew was in port in Bimini and then again on Sunday, June 4th when he was kind enough to pick me up from the airport during my 7 hour layover in FLL!

Howard, not only picked me up, but took me to an absolutely FABULOUS Indian restaurant (I’m craving Indian food right now thinking of it), and arranged to have MannyDib join us. Manny was also one of the Ocean Explorers SD divers I got to meet and hang out with last Tuesday. In Bimini I like Manny instantly as he was just one of those cool guys who is naturally happy and gives out the good diver vibes for sure!

(AND AND AND I get to dive with the two of them in North Carolina over 4th of July!!)

After lunch the three of us headed out to the Museum of Discovery and Science and caught two IMAX 3D features: Deep Sea 3D and Wild Safari 3D: A South African Adventure!!! Both were excellent!! Half of Deep Sea was COLD WATER! I was whispering left and right, ooo look that's my water, oo look a ling cod, an octopus, plumose anemones, orange peel nudibranch.....etc. etc. I really think we may have two FL divers who may make the trek to dive the PNW yet - my loft is open to you when you decide to take me up on the offer!

Then it was back to the airport just in time to make my flight with only about 15 minutes to wait before boarding.

Again, I want to extend my thanks and gratitude to Howard for an excellent layover. It was also my absolute please finally meeting him and a bonus meeting Manny and all the great SD members who were with Kamala in the Bahamas (OTWDiver, Regulus, DocCrawdad, Jocassee Diver, & Rocky.GA Diver). And thank you Kamala and SD for providing a welcoming online community that affords such cool connections all over the world!!!

By the way, Howard is even more impressive in person. He exudes knowledge, wit, and personal strength effortlessly.

:P

Straight from my cell phone, here we are right after our IMAX 3D features :;-+:

It's Winter time - you know you're a diver when you're scraping ice off your windshield INSIDE your vehicle...!
