Sounds like you all had a great trip and Kamala wish I had been there to return the favor, no luggage, I so know how you felt.

And Karen, did you see the manta this time?

Hopefully next time I can join you all on this trip.

:hiya: :)
Yes I DID see the manta this time....thanks to Victorias' deligenant shaking of the rope while we were doing our safety stop !! I rememebered all too well missing the manta in turks while I was conducting my personal sand survey. .this time I kept looking up..coz thats where it all is!!!!

I have to say that this was a GREAT trip and I had a wondreful time, I met great people and had nothing but nice diving each dive. The rigs were fun as usual.

I am going to downlaod some pictures tonight when I am at home . You who werent there will be jealous rags...you will have to join us all next time!

I want you all to know that I had grand time on the M/V Fling. All of you at SD really made me feel welcome and were very helpful to lend a hand with strap or a zip tie. Kamala's pointers on negotiating the current and terrain were the difference between a marginal trip and the fact that I really leared a lot and had a ball.
The only downside to the trip was that I gained 5 pounds. That galley crew was awesome. Feeding 40 people 3 hot meals a day and snacks is something I am having a hard time explaining to my dive buddies in Topeka.
I can't wait to do another trip with your wonderful group.

Can any send me a pic of the sea turtle on the oil rig? Send it to yacmandu@yahoo.com

Look forward to diving with you all again.
Later,
Matt

Hey Matt..
I will send them off tonight after work! I got some great pictures of the turtle !

Thanks Kamala for a great trip and Ken (and Ralph and Coln) for filling my tanks, I was truly spoiled.

This trip and the SD group was awesome. The hard work of Kamala in watching out for lesser experienced divers and providing in water diving support truly ensured the trip was a success.

With all the challenges of fast current and the last dive in which the current switched directions causing the line between the back of the boat and the mooring line up against the starboard side and the bottom of the boat, which then forced all divers to swim 50 ft to the down lines like donkey kong, the trip was a definate learning experience.

I will definately join you all on this FG trip next year or another FG trip this year. The 4 day trip was the way to go with the weather being as great as it was. Next year, another 4 day FG trip would be awesome.

Matt, thanks again for buddying up with me

Yes Ben was one of the first to see it...and he pointed to me to look! I was amazed. I've seen them now in Hawaii and Fiji but to have one so close to me just out of the blue like that...and the pod of dolphins IN THE WATER with us...well they just blew me away! And our friendly turtle on the rigs...woo!!! hoo!!!!

Now all I need is the hammerhead shark, tiger shark and whaleshark and my FG diving is complete!!!!

Way cool pics Karen...the turtle is fantabulous!!!!
