WreckWench or ScubaDadMiami,

Is the trip total $1400 or $1750?

How about some times for travel planning. Be at the docks at 6 pm to load? When is the last planned dive on the 30th?

BTW anyone flying in to FLL that afternoon or out on the 31st perhaps to share a Blue Van ride?

Is trip insurance an option?

thanks in advance,

:wavey: Dive Girl

Total is $1,400. (About the only other things would be if there is a Departure Tax in the Bahamas, which is not much, and crew tip, which generally runs 10 percent of the trip fee). There is no charge for the 26th since you board the evening of the 26th. The exact time of boarding can be flexible depending on your flight arrival. We depart late at night or after midnight depending on the first destination and coordinating with arriving at Customs in the Bahamas.

Typically, the last dive on the 30th is in early afternoon. After the dive, we cross the Gulf Stream, which typically takes about four hours or so depending on weather, and we are back in port by about dinner time.

You can book air and anything else through Fingrabber, and she or Kamala (a/k/a WreckWench) can tell you about trip insurance if there is such a thing.

:wavey: Thanks for the info SDM! In regards to trip insurance, if you hold DAN insurance, I think part of the policy includes trip insurance with a deductable. I always encourage people taking dive trips to review their dive insurance policies so they know what options they may have as part of their insurance that could possibly come in handy!

I have been comparing DAN to Dive Assure as my DAN insurance has to be renewed before the end of this month; both companies have some level of trip insurance, how much depends on the plan you purchase. SD can also set you up with CSA trip insurance if you want. Here are some links:

Hello all! I am getting so excited about this trip and I'm raring to do something different where we can more intimately control the boat...dive more pristine sites and and have the luxury of a liveaboard doing diving most people drive their hearts out to see.

Howard aka ScubaDadMiami has done a great job in getting this his first trip organized and we'll get any other questions answered asap.

Price: $1400 plus the few incidentals which we'll post shortly
Gases: If you want to get special gases I have that info as well:

Helium .90 per cf
O2 .40 per cf
Air (fills and top offs free)

Rentals: I am verifying the cost of tank rentals as I will need rental tanks. Who else will need rental tanks?

Local Airport Transport: Several people have volunteered to help get people from local airports the night before we depart. Our idea is to do a local area Happy Hour the night before which gives us a chance to meet people before the trip! This will also help people have great flexibility flight wise too.

OK - let me know when you hit Alice Town when entering and exiting the Bahamas. I'll try to meet you on the docks if possible. Too bad you can't spend a night there.....:wavey:

Roger on the tanks...I'll know what is available soon. The trip goes regardless...one of the best features about SD trips is that we guarantee they will go once we have one other person besides me on them! So your vacation plans are secure with us!

However if you know anyone who might be interested in this trip or know someplace to post it...pls do so! We do need 4 more people! -ww

Awesome. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Trip Update:

It looks like we'll have an instructor on this trip who would be willing to do some private and semi-private instruction. If you'd like to get nitrox certified and want the nitrox included in the price of the trip...this is the trip for you. While this is not a newbie's destination, it will be a rare opportunity to 'learn' from the pros...we'll have at least one rebreather diver...doubles divers...mixed gas divers and more. What a way to learn while you dive. If you've been thinking 'tech' or you are on a 'tech' path...this is the trip for you!

WOW!!! This doesn't look like the Bahamas that many people dive...the dove out part and the part with strained reefs....

What else can we expect on this trip????

I was just able to clear my schedule and would like to add my name to the list for the trip. I will be driving down and be able to arrive with tanks filled.
Will we be able to spearfish and if so have our catch for dinner?

I know that they often catch dinner. So, now you will just do the catching! Great to have you aboard. Please contact either Kamala/WreckWench or Fingrabber about payment, and you will be all set.
