***UPDATED AS OF JULY 27TH***

Calling all NY/NJ/PA Tri-State Divers! :-D

Continuing with our NY/NJ HH success, we thought it would be great to include PA since we'll be there for our July monthly SD HH. But unlike the last HH, this time we are going to be diving!!!!

:cheerleader:

Here is the info for this not-to-miss event:

Who: Anyone and everyone! You'll get to meet the last NY/NJ HH attendees, and other SDers!
What: Day dives, night dive & camping overnight
When: Saturday, July 29th & Sunday, July 30th
Where: Dutch Springs, PA - Click on the links for directions, rules and regulations and waiver.
Why: Because you'll get to share dive stories under the stars after a night dive with the most fun SDers!

:birthday:

Attendees (updated as of 7/27/06)

IN 1. Tolly
IN 2. bubbleboy
IN 3. sparky103

3. VADiver
4. tpits1
5. ddierolf
5. tracemalin
7. solodiver in NJ maybe Sunday
9. sjkocis
10. drckw

Here are the details:

Time: Meet at Dutch Springs at 10AM on July 29th. Register, rent and/or fill tanks, buddy-up and dive!

Costs, to be paid onsite individually:

Admission - $25 per diver

Tank rentals - 80 cu. ft. aluminums only, $16 for air/$19 for nitrox. Tanks are full with air or nitrox when you rent them. Because there is a $125 refundable deposit required for tank rentals, please post if you have extra tanks you can share them with us and we can avoid this. DS does not rent out BCDs, regs or computers. If you can contribute these as well, it would really help.

Weight rentals - $1 per lb. up to $10, per person; over 10 lbs., $10 flat fee pp. Includes weight belt. Drivers license required for deposit.

Air fills - $6 for air/$13 for nitrox, per ticket. Book Book of 20 available and is $1 less per fill. Books are either Air or Nitrox - no interchanging. Sparky103 will coordinate buying a book if there is enough interest.

Night dive - $5 per diver. AOW cert card required. Trace has graciously offered stand in, in his instructional capacity for those who are not yet qualified/certified to dive at night.

Camping - $10 per diver plus next day’s admission

:fish:

Carpooling: Post here if you need a ride, and I’m sure some NY/NJ/PA SDers will be happy to oblige.

Diving: Hope to do 2 dives before lunch. A 7MM wetsuit, hood and gloves are recommended for the mid-70 degree water temps. There are thermoclines, so prepare for a 10-degree drop every 30 ft. Those who have been to DS can act as guides. Our entry point will be off of the floating docks at the peninsula near the bathhouse and staff look-out. Please bring your C-cards, ID and signed waiver. Diving the next day, on July 30th, too!

Lunch: BBQ at the campsite at 1PM complete with our own grill (Bubbleboy) and 2 burner propane stove (Sparky103). Chef Bubbleboy has offered to man the grill! It will be a potluck. Please post what you will be bringing so that we do not have 5 million burgers! :cheerleader: You can also contribute to supplies

Lunch ideas: Sandwich Rolls, Coldcuts, Sliced cheeses, Tomatoes, Shredded Lettuce, Condiments, salt, Pepper, Cold Salads, Fruit, Snacks (Chips and dips), Soft drinks, water (Tolly)

Supplies ideas: Styro Cups, Plastic Ware, Plates, Napkins, Table Cloths, Trash Bags, Charcoal, Lighter Fluid, Masking Tape

Night dive: Fill tanks before 5PM. Anyone not camping or night diving needs to leave DS by 6PM We’ll miss you, night wusses! :P Will most likely occur just before sunset at 8:30PM. Those not camping must leave 2 hours after sunset or by 10PM. You’ll be missing out on the real fun if you don’t stay overnight!

Camping: Set-up camp at 6PM thru 8:30PM. Tollly is bringing a 4 man tent—first come, first serve. Those who can contribute camp gear, please post so we can try to accommodate all divers who wish to camp out.

Dinner: At campsite after night dives. We will the grill (Bubbleboy) and 2 burner propane stove (Sparky103). Chef Bubbleboy has offered to man the grill! Also, DS does not allow alcoholic beverages... So who's up for bringing Absolut and Bacardi watermelons (we still need someone to sign up for the watermelon duty) Shh! ;)

Dinner ideas: Burgers, Hotdogs, Tomatoes, Onions, Condiments, salt, pepper, Potato Salad, Corn on the cob (Tolly), Fesh vegetable Snacks, Desert (suggestions), Soft drinks, water (Tolly), coffee

BEAR WARNING: If bears approach the camp, hide behind BubbleBoy…

Breakfast (Sunday morning): At campsite in the morning - grill (Bubbleboy) and 2 burner propane stove (Sparky103).

Breakfast ideas: Scrambled Eggs, Instant Oatmeal, Croissants, Chunk Cheese
Donuts / cookies / pastries, Fruits, Juices, Coffee, Water
(Tolly)

:)

Anyone interested in joining in the fun, please post on this thread. We’ll keep running lists of camp and dive gear separately and will ask for contributions closer to the date so that all will be accommodated. Please PM Tolly with questions or post them here.

What could be more fun than camping out with SDers? Oh, right--diving with them! This is going to be another fun, memorable HH! :D

[Angel note: just popping in to keep this post updated for you fabulous NY/NJ/PA Tri-state members! -dg]

I'll be bringing an extra al80, that's in addition to the one Jemiah already layed claim to. (Update, Ellen claimed the extra tank and weights) Some extra weights and a SS BP & W if someone wants to try it.
I have my own camping gear but only a one burner backpacking stove and a two man tent.
I have a folding table for the food and a small tarp in case of rain or too much sun.
I'm still thinking about what food item to bring.

Now, now...as HH Planner, and also as Angel, it is my responsibility to make sure that everyone achieves neutral buoyancy, both in the water and topside! Both of you better [not] behave, or I'll stick you both in the same tent! :D

Looking forward to further mischief, Ellen. I expected better from you, Ray! BTW, thanks for the tank! :P

Darn! :flirt: Jeff, I was so looking forward to seeing your Hawaiian shirt glow underwater! Do wear it to the bbq! Well, now you'll just have to wear neoprene like everyone else during the day dives. :D

Are there any instructors out there in the area that can help out my dive buddy Jeff? Please come to DS!

Mark, you know it wouldn't be the same without you at the HH! I know you'll buddy with me to the Cessna!

As far as the snakes go, I don't think they know how to dive! :flirt: So you and I'll be safe in the water! :P

Ops, :P I wasn't insulting you Ellen, I meant I only have about 5 extra pounds of lead and that wouldn't sink Popeye's gurl friend but I could bring the anchor from my dingy. :flirt:
