There are ways to limit some of that info as noted below:

Don't want to have a list of who visited your profile?

View your profile. Select from the tabs in the center of the screen (Topics|Posts|Gallery|Comments|Friends|Settings) and select Settings. Change your Sidebar Last Visitors setting to ZERO.

Don't want comments?

Select from the tabs in the center of the screen (Topics|Posts|Gallery|Comments|Friends|Settings) and select Settings. Change your Sidebar Comments setting to ZERO. In the same tab also change the Comments setting in Moderation Options to Enabled, then just never approve any comments.

Don't want Friends?

Select from the tabs in the center of the screen (Topics|Posts|Gallery|Comments|Friends|Settings) and select Settings. Change your Sidebar Friends setting to ZERO. Also never add anyone as a Friend.

Don't want to be added as a friend by someone else?

Select from the tabs in the center of the screen (Topics|Posts|Gallery|Comments|Friends|Settings) and select Settings. In the same tab also change the New Friends setting in Moderation Options to Enabled, then just never approve anyone to add you as a friend.

I am slightly computer illiterate so if someone could tell me how to find who added me as friends so I can add them too that would be awesome!!! I looooove the new spell check feature and the formatting for posting looks easier to use. I like the new SD!!

Click "My Friends" right between "My Assistant" and "New Messages" linky above.
This should open a new window for you that will show your friends list.
You should see three 'tabs' across the top: "My Friends", "Friends Pending Approval" and "Mutual Friends"
Click on "Mutual Friends", then click on the drop down window to the right and select "Show who has added me"

This will give you a list of SD'ers that call you friend...friend...

Hi Tolly

:fish: for all the work you've put in on the site. One question, when sending a pm, there is a box that you have to check at the bottom to retain a copy in the "sent messages" folder. I tend to neglect this and then have no record of what I've said to who, or when. Is it possible to make the default that the message is saved, and to delete selectively? Please say yes :respect:

Also, my laptop has windows Vista :banghead: The ieSpell download does not mention Vista. Do you know if they are compatible? I am not very good with computers. Any help would be appreciated.

Margaret

unfortunately, it is not possible to set the PM manager to automatically save messages.

ieSpell should work fine as it is intended for all versions of IE and Windows. I don't use it so I cannot swear to it.

If I may suggest, I find Google spell check easier to use on message board. :birthday:

I'm running Vista and downloaded it to look at. It works OK but IE popped up a warning bar the first time I ran it and I had to OK it to run. :birthday:

Yep, it just wants confirmation that you actually want ieSpell to run and its not some malware attempting to run.

Alternately, you could use Firefox as that has spell check built in as well.

Normally I run Firefox but some things don't work properly - like clicking on Topics|Posts|Gallery|Comments|Friends|Settings. It doesn't change off of Topics. I've double checked my settings and I don't see anything that would prevent it - any idea what setting I need to change in Firefox?

Do you like the FF spell check? I have it too, and it spots words ok, but don't care for it's suggestions as well as Google's suggestions. Maybe it's because I am such a bad speller?

I've noticed that some sites work better on IE7, but hadn't noticed that here. Thanks, Cajun Diver - I'll have to look into that more...

It does have a bit of a limited vocabulary, but you can add words to your dictionary so it will stop bothering you about the same words over and over again...but that means you need to make sure you spelled it right before you add it...

What you are describing sounds like your FF doesn't like the link request its making, and is basically blocking the pop-up window or the redirect.

Try adding www.singledivers.com to the FF pop-up blocker (Tool > options > content) exceptions list and to any of the additional pop-up blockers that may have been added with any of your toolbars.

It is in there - funny thing my desktop works properly but my laptop doesn't :cool1: - guess I'll go through both and see what the differences are in the settings.
