WOW Kim! I've worked at my job 16 years and we get CALENDARS for a Christmas Bonus!!! Congrats - and have a great time - you deserve it!!!

Yep gotta love a company that intentionally underpays you so that they can give you a bonus which was really the equivelent of a fair salary and calls it a 'gift'!

However on the bright side...she can think of it as sort of a diving savings plan so to speak!

Hi WW. Nice to talk with you recently. This trip looks great by the description, and I would be very interested in going. However, I can't tell from the info at the beginning of the thread just what the itinerary will be. The description is for 5.5 days of diving in Cortez, and 2 days travel (out and back). The Socorro description is 2 days out, 6.5 days diving, then 2 days travel back. What are you planning for the combined trip? How many travel days getting to each place, and how many actual diving days? Nice to see SD is doing well.

Hi WW. Nice to talk with you recently. This trip looks great by the description, and I would be very interested in going. The schedule is pretty much up to us...when we set this up, the boat had never done one of these combo itineraries before. However after we came up with the idea, another group loved the concept and they just ran one last fall. The boat now has a better idea of how to run these so I will ask them for their new suggested itinerary based upon how the first trip went!

Mark it was GREAT to talk to you again...and several people are VERY interested in the CME option as well!

I'll try to post a revised itinerary shortly.

I had a friend who was on the D2D trip for New Year and he said the boat moves at night to the new location so we should not loose any dive days in the middle of the trip. The captain holds a a sitdown briefing everynight that is mandatory (must attend or you don't dive) on the next day dive sites. I guess they do take safety seriously on this boat.

Thanks Kamala. I will look for the updated proposed itinerary. I am not sure of the distance between port, Cortez and Soccoro, and thus total travel time. How many days total of diving do you think the trip will offer?
Also, I would be happy to further discuss the possibility of adding a continuing medical education conference component to the trip, if that would be of benefit to your docs, nurses, and health care providers (IRS and license benefits).
I am currently looking into diving in VIetnam, where I will be going in April.
