I hope I can make it too!

I agree too, that whether it is just us or more it will be a great trip. And something tells me more people will sign up as time passes. I am just not lucky enough to have you all to myself.

Thanks for the quote.

Everything I've been reading about these trips say you really need to dive nitrox, or your bottom time is REALLY short.

Can I dive air and still get decent wreck time? Otherwise I'll have to find someway to get my nitrox cert.

I dove air for about 8 years in NC...even when other divers were diving nitrox. I very much enjoyed the dives on air just fine. But since my air consumption is good...when I switched to nitrox I did get more bottom time because of the higher nitrogen levels and because I had enough gas to support having more bottom time. We dive steel 100's in order to ensure that all divers have plenty of gas. The choice is yours...I would suggest nitrox if you can but its not a deal breaker if you can't and you will have a great time regardless!

Not sure who will be on the trip but we may have an instructor on the trip and you can do the nitrox there. And I think you can do nitrox online or will be able to do so soon.

I will be using Nitrox 100's.

I have not figured out my gear configuration to decide whether I want aluminum or steel. When will you need this information?

We only have steel 100's or alum 80's. That should help you finalize your gear options unless you are driving. Then you have more options as you can bring your own tanks. -ww

Okay, Steel 100's it is. Now to squeeze that Aluminum back plate into my budget. I just can't seem to have enough dive gear.

Why not use the steel? I will be using my steel backplate and a steel tank. If you are wearing any neoprene you'll be just fine! -ww

I thought I would be wearing my 3mil full suit. I have 2 wings one 18# and one 45#. I would rather use the 18# wing, but with the steel plate and steel tank the 18# wing will be pushed to its limit at the beginning of dive. My LDS has a steel 95 I can rent, I will see how it works with the steel plate and 18# wing. I could also just use the 45# wing, but owning an alluminum plate isn't a bad thing either.

Is there a discount for drive-in's providing their own tanks....?

Travelocity dosn't appear to show ANY flight options from FLL for the weekend... and price range is about break-even for gas.
