IM's could be very very good or very very bad. Either the love will flow or the fur will fly. Not that it doesn't on the board, but with IM or chat, it's in "real time".

" Real Time" may make it harder to keep up with the conversation. I already have a hard enough time following all the new posts. With IM, you can get the feeling of walking into a room in the middle of a conversation and have NO IDEA what everybody's talking about. I guess can scroll back to see what was posted, then catch up?
