I threw some pictures in the gallery last night.

You took some nice ones. I didn't see any toadfish, and that shark looks dead to me too. It wasn't moving at all?

Unless I'm mistaken, that was the shark Phyllis and I saw when we surfaced at the end of the second dive. I don't know about the picture, but the shark was definitely alive and moving when I saw it. That's part of what I loved about Cozumel--we were at least 60 feet above the shark, and I could see it absolutely clearly.

Since Phyllis, Paula and I (the other Paula), all stayed behind on Saturday, we were able to get 2 dives in that afternoon. The three of us buddied up and had great dives, although on the second dive, I was certain Paula would hop back on the boat when the first peal of thunder rolled (Don TOLD us there would be weather in the PM). She braved it out though, and our second dive was great - this was a dive in which we really all just hung out, taking lots of pictures of the same thing over and over, because the current was slight and it was so leisurely.

Got a lot of practice taking shots of the yellow stingray, although I think Phyllis's shots are better. I think Phyllis got some excellent shots of the splendid toadfish on that dive. She also has several shots of baby peacock flounders no bigger than a quarter. Paula followed several of these and said they were just amazing.

We had lots of sandy bottom on that dive, and it was really interesting for me since I often just glide over the sand to the next clump of coral. I saw tons of things that I hadn't seen before and witnessed some very interesting hide and seek behaviors of fish and crabs on the sandy bottom.

We were also lucky that Bill (who dove with us on the first day with his sons Max and Jack) decided to go into town on Sat PM and pick up ferry tickets. Funny, I had no problem giving a total stranger $$ to do this, but I think that there were a lot of people around us who saw the SD group as a very cool thing and they wanted to be part of it. I think there'll be a few new members popping up soon.

Well, today is my last day of vacation and I have to head back to work tomorrow. I will post some of my 222 pics today and hope that you won't be too critical of my fledgling photo skills.

:thankyou:

Posted some pics in the gallery tonight.....somehow, I had a few that came out pretty good, considering that I rarely read my camera manual (this time I learned about MACRO though!). I love the frontal view of the trunkfish - someone needs to tell me how to add that to my picture when I post!

Each nephew and niece is getting a 5x7 of one of the good pictures - since I didn't have any shopping time, these will have to do. I am hoping to make junior divers out of them!!!!

Kamala,

Several of us are new to SD and probably have the same question I do about the $25 Premier Member Trip Rebate Form. I'm terrible at figuring out what my bank's routing number is. There are about 22 numbers on the bottom of my checks. I know that 8 of them are related to my account number. What part of the remaining numbers are the routing numbers?

Better yet, can you just send us a check instead of depositing it electronically?

Thanks!
Lynette

there are either 2 or 3 sets of numbers at the bottom of a check...one is your account number ( mine is in the middle of the check at the bottom)...sometimes my check number has appeared down there as well...then the other set of numbers is the routing number ( mine is on the left hand side of the check)

So, I am home watching the weather on the 5:00 news and they talk about the thunderstorms that are going to be over the Rockies the next three days. Turns out its the remnants of Hurricane Dean! Can't this storm just go away?

Posted Image Thunderstorms in the Rockies is nothing new, but it does kinda rub salt in a wound, doesn't it.

Take care of your health, your gear, and your budget. There'll be more trips to enjoy. I added a few of my favorite pics from my two boat trips to the album - need to add one more of the towel shark. My towel bunny pic vanished. :) And I was just starting to feel comfortable about shooting pics of the group when we all left!

Yeah I know: I've been branded a non-group person - doesn't play well with others. I am so upset. Posted Image Let me know if you want to have some fun, without the drama - I'm good for that.

Great pics Don and FL Starfish. That sunset is great.

And I think Don, that pic of myself, WW and Scubasally is the first one I have seen of myself underwater!

Wow, some great pics in the gallery. I am still photoshopping mine, now that I remembered how to use some of the basic features of the program.

Paula, great color on those anemones! And your Crab or Shrimp? pic is an arrow crab. Nice shot.
