Last night I won a "Reef Check Ecodiver Training Programme" in a raffle! :dazzler: (if it had been the next ticket drawn it would have been a dive holiday in the Philippines...)

Apart form a massive amount of coral and fish ID to learn :P , environmental factors that can effect reefs and a couple of above and under water tests, it is mainly a prgramme to monitor the state of the world's reefs? We have had problems out here with Red tide in the Gulf of Oman, so it is part of monitoring the damage that has caused. I think this prize is to get more volunters involved ...

Just interested if any members might have experience of this organisation and the work as they are based in LA.

Thanks!

Looks like it might be this: http://www.reefcheck...ut_ecodiver.php rather than "Reef" (obtained via Google!)

Thanks for the replies.

I have already talked to the local rep, a marine biologist, and read their website. As it was a US based organisation, I am unfamiliar with their work so was wondering if any members had any personal experience of them or had heard of their work on the Stateside divers grapevine/dive shows etc...

I'll keep you posted!
