It appears that I've lost the ability to insert emoticons or change fonts on my posts. There used to be a control panel above the text box, but it's gone. Any idea why this is, and what I can do to correct it?

Thanks,

Rick

Mine were acting quirky today also, but I didn't lose them completely. Me thinks this is a case for Commando Scotty or The Mighty Shadragon!

Any particular emoticons or fonts showing their hiney?

Exactly what is it doing?
Are the buttons not even there?
Are they there and grayed out?
Are they there sometimes and not others?
Is it only on Fast Reply or on the full editor as well?
Can you type any before they disappear?

My problem seems to have corrected itself. When I clicked on the button, nothing would happen. It was doing the same thing when I tried to change colors or fonts, but it's all working fine now.

I have noticed some weirdness all over the site since we moved to the new server. In my case it has always gone away when I refreshed the page. Sessions seem to work differently on this server and sometimes it seems confused whether you are logged in or not. That may be the problem here. Either refreshing or logging out and back in seem to fix the various weirdnesses for me when it happens. I suspect the PHP configurations are slightly different between the servers.

I've had this problem for the past 3 or 4 days. The buttons are not there. They have not been inconsistent; they're gone. It happens when I do a reply. (I haven't tried a fast reply yet.) The buttons are not there when the window is opened. It's like the feature doesn't exist. Hope this describes something that can be straightened out. Thanks.

Refreshing the page does not work in my case. BTW, I do have the "enable emoticons" box clicked on, so I know it's not that.

For what it's worth, I'm on AOL.

Thanks,

Rick

In order to preclude potentially confusing tangents and blind alleys, I've PM'ed Rick with CC to Scott regarding this problem. We will post the results and hopefully a quick resolution to the problem when we have it.

I'd just thank my lucky stars and be glad the emoticons are gone! Heck, you almost have to learn another language to understand them anyway.

Just received PM reply from Rick, flushing temp Web files and cookies cache seems to have cleared up his problem. :cloud9:

It's amazing how evil those cookies and temp files are. Plus, now my computer runs better and faster. Must make it a point to do this on a regular basis. Thanks again Brad.
