Here is a video I made on the SD trip aboard the Turks & Caicos Explorer II in September, 2010.

Watch for Tammy and Larry.

Really great video, Fred! Tammy is right - your color is terrific. I'm just amazed at how long that shark hung around; he wasn't shy at all. In Palau they take off if you even look them in the eye. But that is in part due to all the illegal fishing/finning going on there amidst the conservation efforts.

Nothing to worry about Sissy. You'll be a convert.

He was looking for a wounded lionfish that had gone into the reef...you see him really going for it a the beginning.

GREAT video Fred! And great color from your red filter! :cool1: Did you use a regular lens or wide angle?

Now I'm really excited about getting some cool footage with my new camera! :teeth:

Kamala & Fred,
Watching this video HAS added to a little more comfort zone for me with Sharks .I think I'm going for it ...the Shark dive in Roatan...
I was told recently by another diver, not from SD.that you want to keep hands /arms close to you.I have the utmost respect for them. The suffering they have been delt is not deserving of any creature.

And yes Fred, was there a red filter used?? Or is that editing at it's best?:respect: If that is the result of the filter,I think I'd invest in one for my DC1200 ..

His magic was all red filter! :respect:

And yes in a SHARK DIVE aka SHARK FEEDING...you keep your hands and legs in fairly close but they really aren't interested in anything other than the fish.

This shark was just free swimming in the wild... courtesy of a wounded lionfish! ;)

Not exactly a red filter.

I used the Magic Filter.

http://www.magic-filters.com

I cut a small piece and taped it over the lens of my Canon SD 940 Digital Elph. I use it with an Ikelite housing.

I set the camera to custom white balance, snap a shot of white sand at depth, and it works like magic.

By the way, I never saw the wounded lionfish at the time, but it makes sense, after seeing Larry with his spear later in the video.

Whether magic filter is a tradename for a red filter or not...it is truly magic! Hats off to you!
