2 members... 2 different incidents... one outcome

It was just another Saturday for many of us but for two of our members and friends...it will be a Saturday they will NEVER forget. Two people in two different locations under two entirely different set of circumstances but each had one outcome...they both ended up in the hospital and EACH need our prayers and good thoughts and positive energy directed towards their full and speedy recovery.

Please keep DaveL and Charles in your prayers today and in the coming days as they hopefully have a 100% recovery. /> kamala

UPDATE:
When I got up this morning there a text on my phone. Dave is feeling better and is in a room. I'm going to call him in a little while and get the whole story and see how he's feeling. Keep the thoughts and prayers coming />

I do not have an update on Charles yet...except that it took WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY TOO LONG TO GET HIM WHERE HE NEEDED TO BE.

We will be trying to find out why in the coming week.

I just got off the phone with him and he is about to go for another treatment. he's able to walk and he sounded good and he was in good spirits. He reports he's about 90% and the docs say this doesn't necessarily mean the end of his diving!! He may be released Tomorrow. I'm going to try to get his car down to Philadelphia today so he has it. That's great about Charles. I just got back to my house from going to center city (philly) to take Daves car back to him. he was back in the chamber when I got there so i didn't get to talk to him. His Dr says he's doing very well. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE:

There "may" be some add'l updates regarding response time, triaging the divers, etc. but as for the incidents themselves BOTH were undeserved or now what DAN calls 'unexpected' hits. These are when you do everything right, everything is within normal parameters, divers right next to you who did the exact same profile are fine and yet 'Murphy' shows up anyway.

The full focus is on the recovery process now and continuing the WAVE of prayers that are still needed that they will be ok once treatment has stopped.

If there is a lesson here its that RAPID AND TIMELY TREATMENT and NOT ignoring 'funny' symptoms is the biggest lesson that can be learned. In each case each one felt 'strange' but did not blow off the symptoms as 'nothing' or 'something else'.

As those involved are able and willing...we'll try to provide a few more details as appropriate but truly the biggest success story here is EARLY TREATMENT of what did not initially appear as DCS and could have been 'shrugged off or attributed to something else'.... instead they sought treatment TO BE SURE. And both were surprised to find it was DCS.

So ALWAYS listen to your body and don't play doctor on yourself. Its better to seek treatment and be told that you are perfectly fine then to not seek treatment and find you have wasted precious hours/days and CAUSED MORE DAMAGE DUE TO LACK OF IMMEDIATE CARE.
