Section 4 of the Flag Code states:
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute."

The following editorial is written with deep respect for our Military Past and Present. It is a violation of our TOS (Terms of Service) which I personally wrote 10 years ago when SingleDivers.com was founded. However ten years later we live in an entirely different world...one that is precariously on the edge of forever changing everything we've ever known and valued and believed in. If lost...it may someday be recovered but it will be at such a huge price... a price we foolishly need not pay if we wake up before its too late.
On this special day...a day of remembrance and a day of reflection it is impossible to not see the irony in our world today. I mean isn't life strange? I never met a single Veteran who enlisted to fight for Socialism and yet our elected officials seem to think that is what their job is...to turn our country into a socialist class society where THEY are the elite with gold plated salaries for life, gold plated pensions, gold plated heathcare...in other words... a ruling class that is the elite of the elite. This is a complete 180 from the 'public servant' role these same elected officials were intended to be. And yet we've turned the office into a popularity contest and given them the ability to control our lives and forever change the face of our nation and our world by their foolish and greedy deeds. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It is said that 86% of Americans & Canadians believe in God so it stands to reason that our military reflects the same values if not more so. So if Muslims can pray on Madison Avenue, and the subway areas in Toronto, why are Christians banned from praying in public and from erecting religious displays on their holy days?
What happened to our National Day of Prayer?
Muslims are allowed to block off Madison Ave, in N.Y.C., and pray in the middle of the street! And, it's a monthly ritual! Tell me, again, whose country is this? Ours or the Muslims? And why we extend rights to those who do not extend them back? Have we not learned from other countries' mistakes?
It is said that 86% of Americans & Canadians believe in God. Therefore, why is there such a problem in the U.S. having 'In God! We Trust' on our money, and having 'God' in our Pledge of Allegiance, or the Lord's prayer said in our schools or public meetings.
It's time we stand up for what we believe in before that is no longer legal or possible to do so!
