I have been a spit in my mask to defog for some time. This is largely because I am fairly sensitive to the smell of detergents often used. FWIW, I rinse my mask after I get in the water.

But, in case you haven't noticed, there is a pandemic going on, and I've seen or heard of dive shops prohibiting spit as a mask defog. I get it, even if I'm not a fan.

I don't want to buy a bunch of different brands of defog, so I thought I'd ask. What are your favorite mask defog brands? (Or, are you spitters too?)

A drop of Johnson's Baby Shampoo does the trick for me

Be careful on dive boats, sometimes people use WAY too much of the commercial defog, and contaminate the entire mask buckett - Result burning eyes

I have always had issues with my mask fogging.  To the point where I often dive with some water in the mask to rinse.  As for defog, I use what is on the boat.  I try and put it in the mask well before the dive, and leave it there.  Just before splashing, I rinse.

Thanks for the responses. I recognize it is a bit of a silly question, but I do want to keep others diving on the boat with me at ease.

Sadly, even Johnson's Baby shampoo gives me a headache. :bam: When I went to Belize, what was on the boat was lemon Joy = insert vomit emoji here

I suppose I could use toothpaste, as mint is less noxious.

I have read about 500 psi and QuickSpit. Anyone ever use either one of these?

I use the Stream2Sea defog.  It did not irritate my eyes in the Flower Gardens a few weeks ago and nothing in it that could harm the reef.

Thanks for the awesome link to Stream2Sea. I bought myself the giant bottle of leave in conditioner along with mask defog and sanitizer. Was a far better deal than amazon could give with the SingleDivers.com discount code!
