I just want to thank my dive buddies Monte and Adam for sticking with me thru the dive...had a great time
Thanks again
You were a great guide. Let's do it again. Maybe you Mark and I can get together on a wreck dive later this month or early Sep, after I get back from vacation. What are you two doing for Labor Day?
When you make fish laugh, they can't bite you.

Thanks to Flo who was Karen and my guide (I don't know how you guys know which way you are going in that murky water ) and to Mark (Solodiver) for pointing out the conger eel and other cool stuff.
After been blown away by the humongous amounts of star fish and crabs, we spied a sea robin crawling around on the bottom with its pretty fanlike pectorals spread. SurelyShirly (aka as Sheryl [not sure of spelling]) and Mark told me what it was later. Lots of little jellies, but alas, we never saw a sea horse. But man, that water was cold. I did bring my camera but decided not to bring it into the water because it has a hard time focusing in low light conditions and I haven't been able to get a focusing light for it. But Mark was taking photos so maybe his came out. We don't really know for sure because his preview wasn't working.
Many thanks to Ray for the use of his tanks for Karen and me, and the homegrown tomatoes which I tasted in the park, but left in Karen's cooler.

Thanks for a fun day yesterday! That was a great dive with lots of interesting little critters, and the first local dive I've done outside of Dutch Springs. I'm excited to check out more dive sites in the area, cold water be damned!
It was also a great opportunity to: (1) meet more singledivers.com folk in the area; and (2) out myself as "Ms. Moose." I met Eric/Moose in Grenada when I crashed the second day of Grenada Singles Week and shared an afternoon dive and dinner with the group at the True Blue Bay Resort. At the time I was swearing at Air Jamaica for royally screwing up my travel plans and forcing me to miss 1.5 days of a Peter Hughes' liveaboard trip, but it all turned out well in the end.
I also affirm, on penalty of perjury, that Moose really did cook a three-course meal from scratch and did a fine job of it!
I'm looking forward to more dives with singledivers.com!!

Hey Mark your photos came out pretty good. I especially like the crab porno one. Does anyone know what kind of fish the dead one is that I'm holding? I though only sailfish had horns (is that the right word?) on their noses.
that looks like a ballyhoo, people use them for bait out in the Gulf Stream for tuna and billfish.

It was great meeting some new people and catching up with old ones (at least the ones deigned to sit with us )

Flo's awesome huh!!!
Since she will never post or talk about herself.. here's a little background:
She is the Assistant Chief Diver for the Point Pleasant Beach First Aid Rescue Dive Team and has been doing it for about ten years. She has been involved with everything from saving baby seals to body recovery. She is a certified EMT and seems to really enjoy it. She is registered with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center out of Brigantine, NJ. And, and she's just an all around nice person.

Most definitely!!! While I'd like to think that I don't need any "hand holding" while diving, Flo knew that Karen and I would lose her quickly in that murky water at the beginning of the dive, so she grabbed our hands, and led us to the bridge. A lot of divers with her experience can't be bothered with relative noobs, especially to a new area, but Flo was very solicitous and always asked us if we were OK. She always took time to make sure we saw stuff and that we were fine. And you weren't any slouch either Mark. Especially pointing out that conger eel, which took me 5 minutes to see. Man, did that thing blend well. I'm so glad that you joined our 3-way buddy team. But next time, I must get a warmer exposure suit. LOLFlo's awesome huh!!!
