Well guys, I'm outbound. Kamala chastised me for not posting the fact that I'm heading out to the sand box, I actualy rather enjoyed it :fish2:  . Sitting in Oklahoma right now for train up. Don't much care for OK. Prarie dogs and Buffalo don't dive. On the up side, the barracks are outstanding. I expected open bays ala Full Metal Jacket and got one man rooms instead. On the other up side it looks like we'll have a week off before we actualy depart for the sand, so I can get in more diving. :P
I'm perfectly sane. I can't help it if the world is nuts!

Second prize is 2 weeks off in OK, third prize is 3 weeks.

Whatever the popular feelings about our presence in "the sand box" - I am very honored by your service, your commitment to yourself and to your comrades. Thank you.

Well on a positive note, at least by the time you make it over this way, it should be past the hottest part of the year. Right now it's hovering around 130 and we haven't seen a cloud in months.

Depending on where you are going, you may also be pleasantly suprised by the living conditions over here. At most places the food is decent and phone/internet access is ok. The living quarters vary from base to base, and while not home, are good enough to give you a place to take your mind off of what is happening outside.

If you don't already have one, grab a laptop and/or a portable DVD player - definitely helps to pass the time.

That's great news! When you do head out, be good and stay safe John.

And thank you. :fish2:

Best wishes to you and all our other divers in uniform that are over there. My prayers are that you will all get home safely. I'm an army brat myself, and I remember my dad being gone was scary. A huge thank you to all of our service personnel who fight every day for the freedoms we enjoy and sometimes take for granted. Bless you all! :fish2: :fish2:

Be safe out there, Doc.

Remember, if you need for me to send in your regulator to keep it in warranty, just let me know. It's the least I can do. So, I mean it.
