You can cut and paste a web link directly into a message, but then the link will just be regular text like this:
www.google.com
If you want it to be 'clickable', then you need to use 'http' in front of it like this:
http://www.google.com
To put a description into the link you need to use URL tags. Then it looks like this:
Link to Google or whatever you want to say goes here...
I have to use a picture to show you the raw code so you can see how to construct a url link in a message.

The http web address goes into the first set of square brackets [ ], the description (It can be anything you like) goes between the brackets and the second set of square brackets has "/url" to tell the program where to stop.
