Not me! The only other one I go to is scubaboard, and even then only for camera information.

The last thing I need is another SCUBA-related board to absorb my time. Between the two I like (SD, of course, and SB which I visit less frequently), it's a miracle I get any diving or video editing in!

I find SD very satisfying (no, I don't smoke after reading it) and amusing. Why would anyone want another singles diving board when they have this one? (Did I do good WW, Walter and ZD?).

I don't think any of the others are active. Since most singles want to find that special someone and retire from singles, it's very difficult to keep one of thse going. :birthday:

But - since I'm unfit for marriage or something similar, I try to be supprtive of this one, in hopes that it'll do well. We are lucky to have WWrench and her friends Walter & ZD running this show.

One thing special about this one is that it is not a dating site, aka Meet Market. Ergo, we can expect better quality posting and higher goals.

:birthday: Rather, the primary purpose as I understand it is to organize Singles Trips and Regional Gatherings, so singles will have options other than tagging along with couple divers. For this objective, a tiny profit margin is attempted on these trips and gatherings, to finance the workings here. I don't think they charge enough, but they're trying to keep it all reasonable, and doing a wonderful job.

This is why Personal/Private sponsoring of trips and gatherings cannot be allowed here. If I were to try to use this venue to attempt to organize my own group outing to Florida, Canada, Calf, etc., I would be in direct competition with SD.com, while using SD.com for advertising and communication. That'd be like me taking my cooler into my favorite dance club and selling beer on their property for less. They finance the club, which is social by nature, but nontheless a business, and I try to cheat them out of hard earned income. Members can go to SB to organize personal trips, but good luck, as it's like herding cats.

I hope that SD.com prospers with happy members. This is possible if - and only if - we support SD.com in part by taking some of the trips, and refrain from trying to post our own, competive ideas here. :teeth: For example, I took one in January and in March - during the organizational stages, and I'm taking more in September and October.

Thanks, Bubbles, for giving me qa conversation suitable for bringing this up. :)

But - since I'm unfit for marriage or something similar, ...

I am curious as to how you came to (or who directed you to) this conclusion.

Not that I am asking for your hand (egads!), rather it is the finality and certainty of your statement that intrigues me.

Thanks

Funny you ask...?

Two decases of experience with women after my Starter Marriage, plus a self awareness program. I have learned compromise in the rest of the world, but when I go home - A Man's Castle - even though I don't keep it up well, I revert back to My Way or The Hiway mode. Borderline hermit, but when I reach for toilet paper or anything else, it's the way or where I want it. :wavey:

Now, I am capable of being any woan's friend, maybe a lover, but I figure I'm knder if I don't pursue the latter. Any I'm happy enough with my own company when alone. I have a friend who cannot stand being alone for more than a few hours, and - he'll dump our friendship in a heartbeat for a woman, but a few of us accept him like that. We just don't depend on him for anything. Glad I was never that bad. :banghead:

Anyway, I'm a good guy on a dive trip, the gals don't have to worry about me hittin' on 'em, and the guys don't have to worry about me as competition. Not a eunech, but about the same threat. :welcome:
