I suspect Mozilla Lightning is what you want to integrate with Thunderbird, although I don't use Thunderbird and haven't used Lightning either.

Lightning should do the things you want, but beware of ANY software package with the word BETA in the title. You may experience crashes, lock-ups and strange behavior with any BETA release.I suspect Mozilla Lightning is what you want to integrate with Thunderbird, although I don't use Thunderbird and haven't used Lightning either.
Typically, software goes through a few stages before "commercial" release. See this link.
Software release stages
As you can see, BETA is early on and you should not trust any business related info to BETA software without accepting the risk of info loss or other very bad things. With some software vendors (Names not mentioned) I will not even consider loading it onto my system until it has reached Service Pack 1.
If dealing with Linux, the word "stable" is a good thing too.
Remember, email is an inefficient communications forum. You may not read things the way it was intended. Give people the benefit of the doubt before firing back... Especially if it is ME...!
