Getting an error page saying I am not permitted to view my profile. I was trying to update my profile since returning from being away for a long time.

I am also unable to access "My Profile".

Why?

OK I went to "Settings" and then was able to access Profile tab and make changes. But I can't select the "My Profile" by my log on in the right upper corner.

Plus what's up with the "moderator will contact you to determine" listed by "Gender"... This is OFFENSIVE. And very annoying about this new format....

How to edit (and see) your profile

Members cannot see profiles, but you can amend them as required by following the info in the above link. Which lets you see them too. Well, your own anyway.

Since our inception we've had 3 options for the gender question... male, female, or don't know moderator will contact you. Whichever one you make the first option is the default so if someone does not reply to the question properly i.e. click to lock their answer in place it will go to the default option. The first answer used to be male and we had at one time 50% of our women listed as men. (No not because they wanted to but because that was the default and their answer did not lock in properly.)

So we chg'd the default to moderator will contact you about 7 years ago. Now we get a lot of moderator will contact you but that is better than the other 2 options.

All that would be great, except I have selected the correct gender in my profile (as it was put in originally) and still is in the new site. But yet, I am getting the "moderator will contact you".

On my profile, there are two places asking for gender. Scroll on down the screen and look for the second one, Robin.....it's the one that has the default phrasing that you described. The first one's default phrase is worded slightly differently.

I am not permitted to use "My Profile".

I can only access "profile" tab via the "My Settings". There is only one place for gender and it is correct.

Robin, I'm not sure what you are seeing, since you are an unpaid Member and I am Premier......but when I click on Settings and get into my Profile information that way, there is a section towards the bottom called Other Information, where the second gender question is found.

IT guys, you may want to check unpaid Members to see if they have access to that second gender question or not. If they do not, we should change the wording to match the default wording that is in the first gender question!

Robyn...can you check again?

We have removed the new software's gender default, tweaked the wording on our default we've had all along.

This should have resolved this problem.
