OK, so it wasn't an official SD HH event, but Jamie (Jextract), his lovely wife Wendi, Trace Malin and I staged an event that included low level libations and lots of laughter here on Catalina Island this evening. Trace was out to teach Jamie a few tricks and I joined them at the dive park sans wetsuit (due to a blown high pressure hose yesterday).

We continued the event at Armstrongs Seafood for appetizers and then progressed to the Villa Portofino for dinner before I revved up the "Dr. Bill Mobile" golf cart to take them to the boat.

Of course I already knew how great Jamie and Wendi are, but had never met Trace. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am glad we had the chance to get together even if only for 9 hours.

And it was only a couple of weeks ago that I was out your way! Wish I could have had the extra time to stop by and visit after diving the Northern Channel Islands. But next time...I promise!

I had heard you were out. Sorry we missed one another.

Caetllonn could have been here for this HH.

Cute Que. Let's see how far Caetllonn is willing to go once she gets it!

I dream of the day when there will be a dozen SD divers in close enough proximity to attend the next HH out here. Buffalo milks will be served... or beer milk shakes if we do it at my house.

Hey,Waterphoto, when do you visit your son next? I'll be giving talks to dive clubs the next 4 weeks so I'll be doing some mainland diving as well as the usual Catalina dives.

LISTEN!! I checked the aeroplan website today (I have my FF miles with them) to see how many miles I need to fly to Asia. Turns out, more than I thought -- 75,000 as opposed to my assumption of 60,000. I currently have just over 57,000.

BUT... I only need 40,000 to fly to Caribbean destinations or Hawaii! And only 25,000 to fly to other states! (Had I know this earlier, I could have saved a bundle on airfare to Tallahassee. :( On the bright side, that trip earned me approx. 5,000 miles. :))

So... have wetsuit AND aeroplan miles -- will most definitely travel! :D (Thailand anyone? :cheerleader:)

LOL! Put your money where your mouth is. I could use a dive buddy during the last week of October. :)

Thailand sounds good around April for their water festival...in Chang Mai, the whole town have a water fight and no one escape dry...The lodging and food is so inexpensive. Did I also mention that this is my favorite country to visit?

I think the last week in October is a go...so you'll actually get to spend time with both of us, Dr. Bill.

You, Caetllonn and me in Thailand as dive buddies? Why that sounds like a dream come true, Que! Seriously, I had a fantastic time in Thailand... at least once I got away from the scams in Bangkok and dove Koh Tao, Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi.

Of course I'd love to dive Vietnam... Nha Trang or any other good site!

Nice try, Bill, but I believe she meant Florida. (For now. :D)

The Thai military just staged a coup and wrested control away from the prime minister while he was at the UN. They are loyal to the king which, from what I've heard, may be a good thing.
