Hi all,

My colleague Geoffrey and I were just talking here at work about diving (imagine that :cheerleader:

). He is newly certified on the Optima RB and we were discussing getting out of cave country for some OW diving, taking advantage of our bubbless, silent diving and interacting with some marine life. I have always been very interested in diving with schooling hammerhead sharks, and Geoffrey is game. So, in hopes that someone has done my homework... where do we go? We live in Florida so anywhere here would be great. Isn't November the month for Hammerheads in FL??

I will of course start lookin' and see what I can find, but any help from all y'all would sure be great.

The Lemon Sharks come to Jupiter sometime in the Spring. I don't know of a particular time for Hammerheads. There is always Cocos Island off of Costa Rica. There are plenty there.

Cocos or the Galapagos will good for hammerheads but I don't think Aggressor boats support rebreathers anymore which will limit your choices. :cheerleader:

Not exactly Florida, but the scalloped hammerheads assemble in schools between November and June near San Salvador, Bahamas.

I think the boats don't support RB's that use granular sorb (when granular sorb mixes with salt water, it can eat right through metal!). The Optima uses Extendair cartridges, which are much less messy... I do know of a few boats that will only allow RB's with Extendair cartridges aboard.
