Been having mucho trouble when gathering messages and/or attempting to read threads--keep getting database error messages.
What gives?

The website is hosted on a shared web host, meaning several websites are hosted on the same physical hardware and often reach out to a second physical server to connect to the database that drives our forums and the portal.
Usually, the delays and errors you see are another site hogging the bandwidth between the web sites servers and the database servers...or a wayward script running amok on the database server, either way, the error usually disappear after a few minutes and sometimes even after a single refresh...
Regardless, I have requested out host look at the servers logs to determine the cause of the errors and try to resolve the issue.

George, the errors were persistent for me and refreshes mostly did nothing other than give me more errors messages. I finally got two posts in, but gave up when the third was repeatedly refused. I sent WW a PM "on another site" which will give an idea of the time it was occuring.

It was bad today resulting in a complete lock out of posts etc. George filed several help tickets and they cleared it up pretty quickly. 
While we have been growing steadily...our bandwidth usage is fairly consistent so I don't think it was us.
