Just got back from spending a little time helping a good friend and thought I'd post this.

My friend is a single woman. Years ago she used to "lust" (unrequited) after me, and always had nice things for me on special days like today. About 15 years ago she suffered a serious stroke, and has been largely house-bound. Another friend and I wanted her to join us for dinner last night, but she said she had to do her grocery shopping as the person who usually assists her with that was going to be out of town for a week.

I told her I'd take her to do her grocery and other shopping today if she'd join us last night. So today I picked her up in the "Dr. Bill Mobile" (golf cart) and took her to get her groceries, prescriptions, things at the hardware store and to do her banking. Once we got back up to her house, I carried a ton of groceries in and we sat and talked for an hour.

It was a nice way to spend a part of my Valentine's Day. Val was always sweet to me years ago, and it made me feel good to be able to help her out when she needed it and spend some time just communicating.

So, Valentine's Day doesn't just have to be about the "L" word. It can be about friends you care about. Not posting this for any sort of self congratulation, but it did make me feel better to be able to do this for a friend.

However, Valentine's Day resolution: To have an object of my lust with me next year! Added that just so you all know I'm not getting too soft in my old age.

There you go using the "s" word again. I told you there are a couple of pills for that. LOL

And when I've had the opportunity to use them (many years ago), they did strange things to my heart (and I'm not talking about a Valentine's Day heart). An acquaintance here on the island had a heart attack after he used two of the little blue pills while making love to his mistress... I don't think his wife was very impressed by their effectiveness.

When I first read the title to this post I have to say I was thinking of a different 'V.D', one you definetly want to avoid...
