Split off from the details thread...

Kamala, The museum said they hadn't gotten payment from SD and we paid $5 each to get in and said something about either shreding the check or thanks for the donation :teeth:

Some of us started touring the museum around 2:30, BubbleBoy caught up with us during the sub tour right after the group picture in the engine room, Fairy Basslet found us in the diner and Pocohantas got there for drinks and dessert. Lots of good conversation and putting faces on screen names. :dance:

I never spent so many hours in a diner. Too bad it was impossible to close it down since it is open 24 hours. :teeth:

BTW, for those at the table who still believe Al Gore said he "invented" the internet, here is some clarification:

And regardless of whether Al Gore invented, created, took the initiative or whatever I still think he is a kook. And, being a former teenage punk rocker, I will never forget Al and Tipper Gore's PMRC shenanigans!!

Well, we're just going to have to agree to disagree. The "miniscule" difference between "invented" and "took inititives.." and the subsequent media frenzy had deadly consequences for hundreds of thousands of people and our national economy.

After the happy hour, I went back to my friend's house to hang a dartboard. Then it was a bottle of wine, darts, and about 3 more hours before I got to head home!

I love multi-hour happy hours!! We have made it safely from beneath the ice....what a COOL diving experience!!!

Looks like you guys had a good time. I'm sorry I couldn't make it at the end, I was recovering from Friday night festivities which went until 5 am with some college buddies I hadn't seen in a while. I will surely make an appearance at the next one. btw - didn't GW make some comment once during a debate about 'first he invents the internet, now he invented the calculator'???
