Agreed, I bought some 2500 NiMH AA's before I went to the Red Sea last year (There are 2900's out today). I use two in my Sealife camera and four in each of the two strobes. I took almost 125+ U/W pictures with the camera without a change of batteries. Didn't take a charger with me, but I did take a full replacement set of NiMH AA's and never used them. :thankyou: I did change the batteries in the camera before downloading the pics when I got home, but that was just precautionary.

I plan on taking my camera to Grenada with a fresh set of batteries installed and with the case seals greased. I hope to not crack the case as long as I am down there.

I drain and recharge them on a monthly basis to try and keep them in good shape. They have lasted very well and I have no complaints.

I tried NiCD's and threw them away (in the drug store battery recycling box - just in case there are any environmentalists out there...). In high drain devices like strobes they simply do not last.

I used this site to decide on which ones to get... Looooooooong list...
These are the ones I got
6 for the price of 4 and CDN prices too...

I may be a bit late to this party, but I use http://www.amazon.co...06533267&sr=8-2 . Can't fault them, and I've tried lots of different brands & types.

I opt for Lithium Ion disposable batteries. They last in my Sea & Sea strobe for a weeks diving. Only battery I use in UW flashlight and safety strobe. I buy them at BJ's Wholesale club at good discount. They are expensive but the longest lasting.

:thankyou: Stan.Hip !Hip!:respect: for the Rabbit.I guess As most today trying to extend a $$ for as much as one can.Reducing the "carry on" of batteries.I'll check these out as well. From the initial inquiry I looked into a Batterys + store..Some of the other larger chains are very close in price. Charger & batteries pkt of 4 were going to cost $29.00.I know I should watch the Mah factor in them,As Simon had pointed out earlier.I need to weigh and consider both options...pro's/cons.

I've had no problems, following the instructions. They are quite specific about the orientation of the charger, and in experimenting I found that incorrect orientation made a considerable difference. But I'm perfectly happy with mine. The only comment I'd make about these batteries is that in the pack they are far from fully charged - they'll work, but seem only to be around 50% charged. Easily remedied though. They are certainly the best rechargeables I've ever used, and indeed the only ones that functionally replace disposables.

enloops (low discharge batteries) are still a emerging technology, but it has made great strides since the first generation cells

as for using disposible Li-ion batteries, i would disagree yes they have more capcity then a alkaline battery but still falls short of current generation of enloops or other brands of low discharge nimh. The low discharge charateristics of the cells is great in that I can charge them days or weeks in advance and them still have 80%+ charge in them. Ill typically carry 6 sets of 4 batteries with me per charger and it comes out to about the same weight and size in the bag for the number of disposible battereis needed, and alot less impact on the enviroment then disoposibles.
