I bought 30# of candy on the Valentine’s Night clearance sale, as they had to make room for Easter candy, and it was only $1 a pound. Not much left, as not only do I use it for snacks my body so badly needs at times, I’ve been making my own Travel Mix:

In a one gallon zip lock bag, I pour equal amounts of mixed nuts, M&Ms, and raisins, then roll until mixed, then – scoop out into one pint zip locks. Pretty handy snack when I’m on the go, and seem to be somewhat nutritious. From the respective containers – for ¼ cup portions:

For: * * * * Nuts * * * Raisins * * * M&Ms * * * Average
Calories = = 200 * * * * 130 * * * * 210 * * * * 180
Fat allowed: 29% * * * * -0- * * * * 14% * * * * 14%
Saturated = 14% * * * * -0- * * * * * 2% * * * * 9%
Cholesterol: -0- * * * * * -0- * * * * * 2% * * * * neg
Sodium == = 6% * * * * neg * * * * * 1% * * * * 2%
Carbs ** * * 2% * * * * 10% * * * * 10% * * * * 7%
Fiber * * * * 9% * * * * * 9% * * * * 4% * * * * 7%
Sugar * * * 1 g * * * * * 29 g * * * * 27 g * * * 19%
Protein * * * 7g * * * * * 1 g * * * * * 2g * * * * 3 g

If I only eat one ¼ cup portion of the mix, not bad. Two – not too bad…

Crackers in a second zip lock are nice, jallepeno cheese in a third :2cool:

Now your talking!!

My ex was allergic to chocolate so he used to make his own trail mix using all the usual nuts & stuff- LOTS of coconut 'cause I liked it so much. He would substitute Reese's' Pieces for the M&M's & it was great!!

Speaking of trail mixes.... in Maui I had an interesting experience... along with several other divers on the boat. They served wasabi trail mix (wasabi covered peas, nuts etc...). You've never seen so many diver head for the head (yikes... bad sentence) after that second dive! MORAL: Stay away from the spicy stuff in between dives.

Yeah, but the Macadamia nuts are fresher there. I'm partial to Texas Pecans - great anit-oxidants, important when diving Nx to the Hard Bottom. :dancing:
