Did Lamar use his Optima for the course?

No. John Jones and John Faircloth were using rebreathers, but Lamar was on sidemount. I'm assuming it was because it was a wiser choice for him, as the primary instructor, to view our skills since the "victim" managed to get himself into the tightest holes with backmount. We just had a leg with a fin and the bottoms of the "victim's" doubles protruding from a hole in Orange Grove. Lamar was able to position himself in the honeycombed walls and make sure we folllowed the proper procedures and recorded the details as we were able to gather information under the circumstances. If he didn't intend to use sidemount for that purpose it certainly helped him evaluate our progress.

Hey, Trace... I met a woman at the Long Beach SCUBA Show who is much more interesting (to me) than any cave could ever be! We'll see if I am interesting to her. She was "involved" in an interview with me that Greg Holt of SCUBA Radio conducted at the Show Sunday.

As I expected, my lovely dive buddy Heather has fallen head over heels with another diver so ours will remain a platonic but interesting buddy relationship... without benefits. The story of my life!
