:welcome: :wavey: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:
As I hear the bangs and pops of fireworks in the distance, and know the oohs and ahhs that follow as each spectacular light show fills the sky, I can only think how different those booms in the night are to the men and women that are across the world right now, proudly serving their country. I also imagine their families who are here and what they must feel today.

I live in a military town and have many friends who are now serving or recently returned. I have also witnessed the stateside effects as I have seen wives/moms handle car repairs and yard work alone, and husbands/dads bring their little girls to church every Sunday, looking cute with their hair actually combed and sometimes even braided, and mothers of grown men/women listen to the news and try to control their panic when they hear of more casualties near where their children are, all while they wait. Wait, not knowing what the future holds.

So I thought it would be nice to let all the SD members in uniform (past and present) know how much their dedication and sacrifice mean to us. So if you feel the same way, send a hello and a thank you to them. And think about them while you're celebrating today. It's because of them that we have the freedom to do so.

With all our problems, there's still no place in the world I'd rather live. THANK YOU!!!!!

As for me, I'm feeling pretty scubalicious.

Warm wishes to my American friends and a sincere *thank you* to those who provide a safe place for them as well as others. It was recently explained to me the depth of the sacrifices made by those who serve -- may your dedication never be taken for granted.
