To recap, on July 3rd two adult males were caught on camera walking towards a international insurance companies headquarters with a small white box. They walked out of range of the camera. About 40 mins later, they reappeared walking away from the building but without the box.
Local searches of the grounds didn't turn up the box. Since there is a huge holding basin that they were near, they requested a complete search of the basin. This is a water basin, about 8-10 foot deep filled with duck poop, fertilizer, a host of other chemicals, and who KNOWS what was in this box.
It's not everyday you can go play in zero viz, duck poop filled, chemical laden water, looking for something that may or may not go boom!
Of course, there are fully closed suits that prevent you from having to come in any contact with the water, but in this case, the water wasn’t poisonous or deadly if it contacted your skin. It was just not fit to be ingested.
So my dive rig was a dry suit, with full-face AGA mask. During the search, I did NOT have any reserve air. With the AGA, I can’t just dump the mask and go to a backup reg (it would be contaminated and then I would ingest the water.) The only action I could to would be a full surface.
Another thing that was interesting, when I left the water, I still couldn’t remove any gear. I had to walk to the decontamination site (with AGA on using air in the tank) and get hosed down like a circus animal. From there, I could slowly remove gear as I was being washed.
Below is a pic of my rig as I came out of the water. Yes, my head and ears were exposed.
The dive itself was interesting. It was about 24 inches of muck that needed to be churned up (CAREFULLY), as I searched the bottom of the pond. Zero vis (I needed to surface to even check my gauges!)
So, I’m curious, does anyone else here do this kind of diving?

On another thread here, I was talking about doing an “interesting” dive.

I'm guessing I can speak for all 3739 of us and say, you are the only one Moose!
So did you ever recover the box?

So, I'm curious, did you have to adjust your weighting for the - shall we say - higher density water?
Actually, when doing searches in shallower water, you over weight. That way it's easier to get down to, and stay on the bottom.
The worst part is cleaning the gear afterwards. As you rise all the stuff off, black poop and muck come out of everything. Mostly because, most of your gear is dragging in the muck the whole time.
