Hey Wenchie / FinGrabber,

Not only was I able to look into getting a Cochran DC through my LDS, I was able to talk them into becoming a dealer. The deal was inked yesterday. I should have my very own brand spanking new Cochran EMC-16 1 FO2 for the Bahamas trip with my Oceanic VEO 200 becoming the backup.

Thanks for the DC "borrow" in Grenada... :teeth:

Well, I probably would, but I would feel a bit of a hypocrite if I spent all that energy convincing them to bring that line in and then go buy my Cochran in the States... Besides, with the US <-> CDN dollar exchange the way it is, it might be cheaper to buy on this side of the border. :teeth:

Seriously, it might cost me a few bucks more, but I will support my LDS and be able to have (guilt free) local maintenance and / or support in case of issues. I have bought the majority of my gear there and typically get free exchanges for problematic gear or loaners for long term fixes. They treat me very well...

That's a great attitude to have!!

I love my Cochran and OTWdiver is more or less my LDS these days - I bought my OMS stuff from him too

I was quite impressed with the EMC-16 WW let me use in Grenada. Solid unit that did everything I wanted too with an intuitive interface. It was my backup DC until mine died on an SI and then woke up at 90 feet set to 50% EAN with accompanying squawking and red light flashing. :cool1: After that the Cochran was my primary... The "Try before you buy" worked in this case... :thankyou:

Agree with the try before you buy analogy. I am looking into the purchase of a Cochran from OTW as soon as I can get my relocation expenses back under control!!

I got my Cochran EMC-16 with 2 FO2 from OTW about 6 weeks ago and have been loving it. Easy to use and, more importantly, I can read it underwater! :D I'm a happy camper.

Went down to do my DM course this weekend and the LDS owner told me that they had already taken orders for three units. As I had introduced Cochran to them, they were not only giving me a good deal on my purchase, but also tossing in several free upgrades on the unit at their expense, software and cable included and I will be paying the same as the US quoted price, but in CDN dollars... No complaints with that at all...

Took my new Cochran DC on a pair of dives yesterday. Had it right beside my backup Ocenanic DC on my arm and I hope to download both dive profiles to my computer and directly compare them later this week.

Very happy with it. Have not gotten into the guts of it yet to change any settings. However, I am liking the big display and layout.
