My thanks to George for posting this...I haven't been too on the ball with my Roatan evacuation & all! :welcome:

We should have a few goodies for giveaways/prizes. I will try to come up with some fun little contests, etc.

Though the event will officially be scheduled from 6-9, I will be there by 5, so feel free to come by straight from work downtown if that is your area!

I would like to encourage everyone to wear something pirate-y or tropical. I probably will have a good prize for the best outfit of one joint or both categories. Will know better after I get the goodies from Little Mermaid this weekend. :welcome:

Also: I think this would be a great opportunity to expand our membership to those who might not know about SD...so let your social groups, etc. know!

Probably. I need to make a schedule adjustment but it should be no problem.

Hey everyone...Little Mermaid and I are going to try and call in...please send her a couple of celfone numbers so we have a contact point or two!

Also I just updated the first post with who is going and the attire etc. Making a SD sign helps people find you...or wearing your SD shirt George will help. Not sure I can get a goodie bag there in time for the co-organizers but I will try. I have George's addy so will send to him if I can get them out the door before our trip in a few days.

And the mods will help to keep your thread updated! I hope you all have a blast and this will be the first of MANY!!! :cool1:

I already have at least 4 additional people from some other social groups I've notified planning to attend...thus we will be expanding our ranks!!

Alas, I was booted from a Meetup group for posting info on this, no warning, no nothing. Just a nasty "NO posting outside events on MY site," even though the site was for so-called adventurous singles (wouldn't that probably include a bunch of single divers?) and it wasn't really a commercial posting, but a social networking one...ah well, the price we pay. And no, there were no posted guidelines about not doing what I did. :s

I am creating a flyer as well that you can ask your local dive shops to post, if they are willing. Eh, moderators...a little help on how to get this out to people via the site??

As for recognizing me, I haven't decided whether I'm going pirate or tropical in dress, but rest assured, either way it will stand out. :wakawaka: Perhaps I will be a flower-pirate LOL. :o

Howdy Neighbors!
The bad news is, I didn't quite get the Phillipines trip worked out, but the good news is... I can come to our first ever HH! I should be able to make Friday at this moment and will probably bring a guest or two. One question though, is this a club or a restaurant? Reason being is my daughter is an SD member as well, but not quite 21 yet, so I'm wondering what the rules are as far as age. Any thoughts?
