Our first trip to Bali and Wakatobi sold out in about a week. So the question is when do we do it again? Since most people are not likely to repeat the trip...and a second trip will be comprised mostly of people who missed out this time...so who is seriously interested in going?

Remember this is a planning and serious discussion thread that I will use to make decisions about upcoming trips for the site. This trip was quite pricey and will continue to rise about $600 per category per year. Having said that, this year's prices plus our Bali package ranged from $2875 to $3785 plus your airfare which unless you are using miles adds another $1500 to $2000 onto the trip price. While we can work on a group air contract, for planning purposes assume what people are paying today or approx $1500 to $2000 for air from the US.

So let us know if you are serious about doing Bali/Wakatobi in either 2009 or 2010. Please keep in mind the costs when posting your feedback. In otherwords...this is more of a 'very seriously interested' thread!

2008 Garden Bungalow (GB) Package - Includes Bali Pkg, round trip Flight from Bali to Wakatobi and rooming located slightly behind the Beach and Premium bungalows. These offer more shade after a long day in the sun on the boats. Comfortably equip with everything you need for an enjoyable stay.

$2875 USD (includes Bali package and Bali/Wakatobi/Bali Charter Flight)

2008 Beach Bungalow (BB) Package - Includes Bali Pkg, round trip Flight from Bali to Wakatobi and rooming similar in size as the Garden Bungalows, but located front-row, facing the south beach. The breeziest choice for those not wanting to use the AC.

$3185 USD (includes Bali package and Bali/Wakatobi/Bali Charter Flight)

2008 Premium Select Bungalow (PSB) Package - Includes Bali Pkg, round trip Flight from Bali to Wakatobi and rooming on the front-row beach location on the west-facing sunset beach with completely rebuilt interior. Excellent and some say - on par with the cliff villas, just not as spacious.

$3485 USD (includes Bali package and Bali/Wakatobi/Bali Charter Flight)

2008 Cliff Villa (CV) Package - Includes Bali Pkg, round trip Flight from Bali to Wakatobi and rooming situated aside from the rest of the resort, perched up on the coral cliffs. These premium rooms offer first-class exclusivity, privacy, 800+ sqf of space and amenities.

$3785 USD (includes Bali package and Bali/Wakatobi/Bali Charter Flight)

Hey WW... I joined the SD.com too late to make the first trip, but i'll plan be there for the one 2009!! And, i'll bring my video cameras to make the vacation DVD also..!!

depending on the dates...........Dan has to SET his dates in Oct of the year - so once the date is down - it's in stone.

I WILL have a final decision by then...with economic uncertainty and rising fuel costs...I will have 2009 pretty much ALL mapped out by Sept/Oct this year. I have already started.

It would be AWESOME if you all could join us.

Oh by the way....let me know what type of accommodations you all want? It seemed everyone wanted garden and beach and they sell out FAST! Getting them will be hard.

Yes we do still have a spot but several people have expressed interest. The air is the killer right now.

The plan is to have at least one or two non-repeat exotic destinations. Thailand in Feb and Galapagos in Oct to start. If we can squeeze in one more PLUS Wakatobi I'm not sure.

I am awaiting some possible dates in the next few days to repeat this amazing venue in 2009. Once I have them I will post them for 2009 if we can get good dates. If we can't we'll plan NOW for 2010.
