Missed you folks, but its been a busy summer, I drive boats 5 days a week and run my business the other two, not much time to spend online or in the water.
however,
I have been doing a bit of diving myself, Im currently in training for my new rebreather, a KISS unit, here in Vancouver BC Canada. One more dive until I am done and fully certified, or maybe the word is certifiable.
Last month I spent 11 days on the Nautilus Explorer during a circumnavigate of Vancouver island, diving every day. The trip was a photo trip sponsored by Berkley White of Backscatter in Monterey Ca and judging by some of the photos that came out of the water ( and land shots too) the boat was populated by the Creme de la creme of UW photographers. Some really awesome shots. The vis was great and of course the food and guest service were beyond perfect. Check out Mike Levers boat at www.nautilusexplorer.com.
My next adventure is a trip called Zero Gravity at sunset house in Grand Cayman. this is an all rebreather annual trip and is sponsored by IANTD, ISC (makers of the Megalodon RB) Jetsam (maker of the KISS RB's), Advanced Diver magazine and others. Really looking forward to doing some warm water diving, its been almost a year since i have had that pleasure.
Other than some salvages done here in the Columbia and Willamette rivers, I havnt done any other diving.
I have joined a non-profit rescue diver team in Clark County Washington called SWORD, Southwest Washington Organization of Rescue Divers, this team is dedicated to providing dive team services to the people of SW washington in responce to water related accidents, recovery of submerged evidence and swift water rescue. I will be attending training to become a PSD (public safety diver) in September and then will be a diving member of the team. see thier website at www.nwdiveteam.org.
Whew, thats all for now, see you on the river, or under it.
more cold water diving
