so, here i am, nursing a cold on a saturday night, looking at the names of folks online:

blondie.
bombero.
mostlysingle.

some names are self-explanatory. some are name-names. and some, like our new mostlysingle, have been explained.

how 'bout the rest of you?

how'd you pick your name? Posted Image

Sorry to hear about your sniffles TF. For those that didn't figure it out, my name is just my occupation in Spanish.

James- I agree with you on the Sig Sauers.

Mine is an evolution of a marine-related moniker I came up with years ago as I went from one isp to another. I first wanted to use "emerald sea", but it was too common and also being used by a scuba charter up here, so my second choice was "brinydeep", but somebody else had it, so for a while I was using "brinysea", and liked it fine until I decided I was tired of changing my email everytime I moved to another area and had to change isp's. I tried to register "brinysea.com", but it was already taken, sooo...the domain registrar suggested "brinybay". And now you know the rest of the story...

funny how names you think no one else would use ARE in use!

when i got my first computer, i tried all the cutesy dive names....
mermaid.....taken.
REDmermaid....taken.
REDHEDmermaid......taken !
so, in frustration, i went with the name of a nudibranch i want to find someday...SLIMEYDORIS.

BINGO!!! no body had THAT one!

within minutes, i got 200 porn spams, all addressed to SLIMEY....

The e-gods must like me, because I've never had much problem with spam. But then, I don't get many legit emails either <sniff>.

Maybe the word is out on the interntet that you dont need, anything enlarged, refilled, refinanced or removed from your hard drive? :-)

Trigger
I came up with maninthesea after my nomaxdepth@ hotmail account was shut down due to "illeagle actifity" I spent days trying to find out what I had done that was "illeagle" all I found out is that there are no actual people at hotmail. It is just a bunch of automated repliers. I finaly determined it was becuase of a tounge in cheek e-mail I sent out post 9/11. The local Navy Seal detachment had failed an inspection becuase they did not have a 2x dental mirror to inspect tanks with. We could not find anyone in the scuba industry that was selling them even though both PSI and TDI list them as essnetial tools to inspect tanks. So......I put out an e-mail on a rebreather list(probably heavily monitered) asking for someone to help me help the Navy Seals save the world. Next morning No Hotmail! This came out as a longer story when I type it than oritate it.

Since I have not been successful in growing gills and fins in this life I decided I want to be a mermaid in my next life. Ariel is the name of "The Little Mermaid".
