Remember the site will only accept GIF, PNG and JPG / JPEG images. This software will convert file types as well.
The animation example is here... and you can download the program here...
This should make many peoples day easier...

I was asked how to resize pictures without cropping them. I use a commercial photo program, but it costs several hundred dollars to buy. I went out and found a FREE graphics package that does many image tweaks. Plus, I found an animation to show you how to use that program to resize your photos.
The animation example is here... and you can download the program here...

Hi--thanks for the tip on this package, just a heads-up for Apple computers:it seems they don't have a version for Mac OSX users. They said it had too many problems. ...... so I'll keep looking because iPhoto is not my fave..... Upon further exploration, the developer has now made a "beta" version of a multi-platform program. So I may look at that....

I open the picture, click on IMAGE, then click on RESIZE. Depends on how many pixels you're shooting in (I typically get pictures that are between 1Mb and 2Mb in file size out of my camera), so when the box opens up asking for WIDTH, I enter something between 3.00 and 3.50 and I usually end up with a picture that has been resized small enough to upload on SD.com.
I then SAVE AS with -b in the file name so I don't lose the original image!!! Then I upload the -b version to SD and then I can get rid of it.
If you've seen any of my photos in the SD Gallery, you've seen the end result of this method. Works pretty well, is fast so I can resize lots of pics in a short amount of time.
