I need a book suggestion for a 16 year old girl for Christmas. She enjoys singling and the book Twilight (which she already has owns). She is looking to go to university in a few years.

I have a considerable on-line credit with a book store so it costs me nothing, but I have no idea what kids today are into.

Unless you really know the gal very well.. I would suggest a gift card from a great book store.
I am not a huge fan of gift cards but sometimes they are the best option.

Has she read all of the Twilight books? There are 4. If not, I am SURE she would love to have them all. I teach 11th graders at church, I'll ask some of them for some more suggestions - but the Twilight books are all they are talking about lately.
As for me, I'm feeling pretty scubalicious.

I'd go with the gift card. My 18y/o daughter loved the Twilight series but my 15 y/o daughter has no interest in the books or movie.
I'd get her a "Introduction to Diving" book. lol. ~ D

If she doesn't already have all the Twilight books, I'd go with DiverDeb. If she likes the first one, she'll probably like the rest...they are VERY popular. Other than that...I'd hesitate to make suggestions, though sometimes if you're on the website of one of the major book sellers they will make suggestions of what people viewed who also viewed/bought a particular book (i.e. Twilight). You might see if something pops out as being "her"....other than that, it is the THOUGHT that counts... :wakawaka:

I thought about a gift card, but as uw said putting a bit of thought into it is best. I spent some time on Google last night looking for lists of YA popular works. Found a book called Burned by Ellen Hopkins. 5 out of 5 stars as rated by older teens which seems appropriate. The author has a series of books written for YA (Glass, Crank, Identical, Impulse, etc.) which are all fairly popular so I went with that choice.

My second choice was the DVD of The Princess Bride... Every gal loves Indigo Montoya right??? :)

Time will tell if I chose correctly... :)
