I am interested in becoming an HSA buddy.
My niece is disabled and I would love to get her involved in diving.

I know there was a plan to have one last year.
Are there any plans to organize one this years.

At the Bonaire Singles Week last May, Jim Elliott of Diveheart.org offered both HSA Instructor and Buddy certification.

I am currently assiting Jim to set up a training week here in Thailand in early April 2009. (I have no vested interest other than seeing the program here succeed.) We have full support of the local Rotary Club which will help us pay for some of the logistics of the training and will fund a follow-up camp for disabled Thai youngsters. We hope that the newly certified HSA instructors and buddies will be available to put their new skills to work with the kids.

If you have time for this event, you might want to pencil it in since Diveheart subsidizes the cost of the training to an incredible extent. An Instructor rating normally costs US $800, but will be offered for just $375; an HSA buddy rating, normally costing $450 will be offered for only $200. In addition, once you are here, you may as well enjoy some of the wonderful diving we have on offer in the Andaman Sea!

Q.
Come dive with me in Thailand!

If you're ever in Florida, I'd be more than happy to set one up.
